Hi, I don't know if you already found your own solution, but you can just continue with option 2 (Anthropic Console account). This will open up a browser (or show a link you can open if the browser didn't launch) and the link will take you to the Anthropic Console. If it's your first time there, it will ask you questions, which I forgot lol (but I think I chose a solo account, or creating a solo organization. dont really know i forgot already). After that, it'll give you a code you can input if Claude Code asks for one (if it's automated for you, then great! I had to input a code on my experience).

If you're scared about being billed:
Once logged in, type /status inside Claude Code. Look for the "Anthropic base url" part. If it shows the URL to your proxy/localhost, then you're good to go! That means it'll route requests to YOUR proxy, not Anthropic's routers

If you're looking for a Gemini-specific solution, I built a standalone proxy that converts Gemini ↔ Claude protocol directly (no LiteLLM dependency):

It supports all Gemini models (2.5-flash, 2.5-pro, 3-flash, 3-pro), streaming, multi-turn tool calling, thinking mode, and image handling.

The main advantage over routing through LiteLLM is that it handles Gemini's protocol quirks directly — like thoughtSignature persistence for multi-turn tool calls, which currently crashes in LiteLLM (#17949).
