I know the repo is in maintenance mode only, but:
The current tifffile pin is extremely restrictive, but y'all have already lifted it a significant amount in #547.
Could you consider cutting a release with that change?

This is possible, but a concern is for unexpected bugs.
May I ask why bioio is not a good option for you at this time? Is it because of conda?

Ah, i see that all tests are failing on the repo. Darn.
Anyhow, I'm supporting a user that has been using the napari plugin for access to CZI files.
The pin on tifffile here is now lower than napari pin, which makes it annoying.

What does this mean exactly? Which conda packages would be most urgent for you? bioio-czi? bioio-ome-zarr? Anything else?

Well my main problem, as noted in the issue I linked, is that that bioio-czi depends on pylibczirw which has no wheels and no conda-forge package. There is a PR to solve the first issue though, so fingers crossed! But then to have a conda-forge package of bioio-czi it would still require a pylibczirw conda-forge package. Which is why I saw the suggestion in this issue as a path of lower resistance.
