From c47f3cb9ef33da1ed337ff8d48947456acee3626 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: mschoi Date: Tue, 27 Oct 2026 16:39:51 +0900 Subject: [PATCH 1/2] perf(bluecell): precompile rule patterns and conditions once RuleMatcher recompiled every regex via _compile_pattern and re-parsed + eval'd every condition on each tap event. Hoist both out of the per-event path: patterns compile once (memoized _compile_pattern) and conditions compile once into a reusable evaluator (_compile_condition), built at RuleMatcher construction. match() does no re.compile/eval work in its hot loop. Behavior preserved (public API and match semantics unchanged); add characterization tests covering single/multi selection, re: patterns, and/or/not/parentheses, empty + unknown-selection conditions, and that the hot loop performs zero compilation. ~2x on the 10-rule sample, scaling with rule count x patterns-per-rule. --- CHAGELOG.md | 7 + .../autobot/autobot/bluecell/rule_match.py | 127 +++++++++++++----- .../tests/unit/bluecell/test_rule_match.py | 120 +++++++++++++++++ 3 files changed, 223 insertions(+), 31 deletions(-) create mode 100644 packages/autobot/tests/unit/bluecell/test_rule_match.py diff --git a/CHAGELOG.md b/CHAGELOG.md index 7a61cd2..1b554fd 100644 --- a/CHAGELOG.md +++ b/CHAGELOG.md @@ -2,6 +2,13 @@ ## Unreleased +- Proposed Blue Cell matcher performance fix (PR pending): precompile detection + rule patterns and conditions once in `RuleMatcher`, instead of recompiling + every regex and re-parsing every condition on each tap event.
