About the Jam

BASIC is an easy programming language — easier to learn than many others, since its commands resemble English and it follows a simple set of rules. Today there are many BASIC dialects suitable for game development, and most are free.

You may use any BASIC dialect (including ones not listed below).

🎨 Themes

Before the jam starts, the host selects three themes from these six:

1. Lines & Dots
2. Three Buttons
3. Bouncing
4. Fragile
5. Only Numbers
6. Chasing

Each entrant chooses one of the three selected themes for their entry.

⭐ Voting & Ranking

Voting is open to the public, so expect plenty of feedback. Entries are ranked on four criteria:

1. Gameplay
2. Creativity
3. Graphics, Sound and Polish
4. Interpretation of Theme and Completeness of Game

📋 Regulations

1. This is a game jam — only games are accepted as entries.
2. Illegal media resources (sounds, sprites, music themes, etc.) are not allowed.
3. Solo developers or teams are welcome.
4. Only these four entry types are accepted:
   • Web version
   • Windows version (provide all required files)
   • Mac version
   • Linux version (include clear installation instructions, dependency requirements, and how to run the game)
5. Specify the theme chosen when submitting.
6. Old games are not accepted (i.e. games released before this jam starts).
7. Development of Cerberus X, Wonkey, Monkey X and Monkey 2 is highly inspired by BlitzBasic — entrants may use them.
8. Mention the BASIC dialect used to develop your entry.
