From bb9b7ec0c1eeba892bc8154cc625f5195a5c5a5c Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: kakayao22 Date: Wed, 21 Oct 2026 17:21:19 +0800 Subject: [PATCH 1/3] Make tool compression optional and retain memory with owning turns Default tool-result compression to disabled and maxMessages to 80, including runtime and history fallbacks. Persist automatic recall with its owning user turn, tag memory packets with runtime turn IDs, and scope memory use to the active turn. Preserve existing summary and history-trimming behavior. Start the interactive recall deadline after DAG preparation. Add and update regression tests for the new defaults, memory replay, and recall deadlines. Validation: 278 tests across 16 files passed; TypeScript no-emit check and git diff --check passed. --- App/memmy-agent/src/config/schema.ts | 8 +- .../src/core/agent-runtime/loop.ts | 46 +++- .../src/core/agent-runtime/memory.ts | 4 + .../src/core/agent-runtime/runner.ts | 9 +- .../src/core/agent-runtime/subagent.ts | 4 + App/memmy-agent/src/core/session/manager.ts | 9 +- App/memmy-agent/src/memmy-memory/hook.ts | 39 ++-- App/memmy-agent/src/memmy-memory/protocol.ts | 26 ++- App/memmy-agent/src/memmy-memory/tools.ts | 10 +- .../loop-goal-continuation.test.ts | 2 +- .../loop-runner-integration.test.ts | 2 +- .../core/agent-runtime/loop-save-turn.test.ts | 4 +- .../agent-runtime/max-messages-config.test.ts | 8 +- .../core/agent-runtime/runner-core.test.ts | 2 +- .../agent-runtime/runner-persistence.test.ts | 4 + .../core/agent-runtime/runner-safety.test.ts | 1 + .../tests/core/agent-runtime/setup.ts | 2 +- .../tool-result-compression.test.ts | 69 ++++++ .../tests/memmy-memory/client-tools.test.ts | 10 +- .../tests/memmy-memory/hook.test.ts | 14 +- .../memmy-memory/interactive-deadline.test.ts | 62 ++++- .../memmy-memory/runner-deadline.test.ts | 8 +- .../memmy-memory/turn-memory-replay.test.ts | 217 ++++++++++++++++++ 23 files changed, 489 insertions(+), 71 deletions(-) create mode 100644 App/memmy-agent/tests/core/agent-runtime/tool-result-compression.test.ts create mode 100644 App/memmy-agent/tests/memmy-memory/turn-memory-replay.test.ts diff --git a/App/memmy-agent/src/config/schema.ts b/App/memmy-agent/src/config/schema.ts index 12a9f1048..7ec9d3c10 100644 --- a/App/memmy-agent/src/config/schema.ts +++ b/App/memmy-agent/src/config/schema.ts @@ -373,6 +373,7 @@ export class AgentDefaults extends Base { maxToolIterations = 200; From 4c02ef3237b16bbea18728cb841983e15bb15e1f Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: kakayao22 Date: Wed, 28 Oct 2026 12:33:34 +0800 Subject: [PATCH 2/3] Fix runtime memory turn scope and smoke assertions Declare the active memory turn on every model request, preserve background recall without retagging history, and snapshot tool request text before awaiting results. Keep turn declarations and multimodal follow-ups intact through provider conversion. Update smoke assertions and cover retries, background turns, budgets, and final provider payloads. Validation: 595 tests across 40 files passed; agent and smoke typechecks, agent build, and diff checks passed. Full integration smoke remains blocked by the history-import fixture failures reproduced on the upstream baseline. --- .../src/core/agent-runtime/runner.ts | 14 +- App/memmy-agent/src/memmy-memory/hook.ts | 29 +- App/memmy-agent/src/memmy-memory/protocol.ts | 43 +++ App/memmy-agent/src/memmy-memory/tools.ts | 13 +- .../providers/openai-responses/converters.ts | 7 +- .../memmy-memory/turn-memory-replay.test.ts | 248 +++++++++++++++++- .../local-agent-memory-smoke-plan.test.ts | 14 +- tests/smoke/local-agent-memory-smoke.ts | 26 +- 8 files changed, 359 insertions(+), 35 deletions(-) diff --git a/App/memmy-agent/src/core/agent-runtime/runner.ts b/App/memmy-agent/src/core/agent-runtime/runner.ts index 2f2804bbf..fd709244a 100644 --- a/App/memmy-agent/src/core/agent-runtime/runner.ts +++ b/App/memmy-agent/src/core/agent-runtime/runner.ts @@ -1,4 +1,5 @@ import { requestTiming } from "../../utils/request-timing.js"; +import { withMemmyMemoryTurnContext, type MemmyMemoryTurnContext } from "../../memmy-memory/protocol.js"; import crypto from "node:crypto"; import { redactBrowserAuthArguments } from "../../utils/browser-auth-privacy.js"; import path from "node:path"; @@ -155,6 +156,7 @@ export class AgentRunSpec { maxToolResultChars: number; toolResultCompressionEnabled: boolean; memoryContextCallback?: (turnId: string, content: Record[]) => void; + memoryTurnContext: MemmyMemoryTurnContext | null = null; toolResultMaxCharsByName: ToolResultMaxCharsByName; failOnToolError: boolean; concurrentTools: boolean; @@ -840,6 +842,9 @@ export class AgentRunner { const provider = spec.provider ?? this.provider; if (!provider) throw new Error("AgentRunSpec.provider is required"); if (spec.abortSignal?.aborted) return abortedResponse(); + // Every model request (including recovery/finalization retries) gets the + // same runtime-owned scope.
