From 705af80ad663e144160cccb733942110a23a9126 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Lily Shen <115414357+lilyshen0722@users.noreply.github.com> Date: Thu, 15 Oct 2026 19:14:28 -0700 Subject: [PATCH 1/4] feat(native): commonly_fetch_url reads a page the turn was given (TASK-267b) A native turn that declares commonly_fetch_url can read one web page through getFromPublicAddress (#2242). The address of a GET reaches its host, so the model never composes one: it may open only an address that appears, as written, in text the turn was given (the prompt, the message it answers, other authors' pod messages, search results, pages already read). Its own words and its own posts never count (webAddressProvenance). A page is third-party text: it reaches the model behind the #2206 marker, cut to 24,000 characters, and narrows the rest of the turn exactly as a search does (in-pod read and post plus lookups). Not offered, and refused at dispatch, in a pod bridged to an external chat. At most 3 pages a turn, counted on the AgentRun as webFetches. A guard refusal reaches the model and does not taint the turn. So "!!!…" matched and the appended, model-chosen bytes went out in the request path, a few bits a character with no length bound. Every earlier probe, mine and the code gate's, tested the key, never the requested URL. The argument now only selects. GivenAddresses keeps, for each comparable form, the address as it was given (host lowercased, fragment dropped, sentence punctuation trimmed, its own path, query and trailing slashes kept), and resolve() returns that; the dispatcher requests only what resolve() returns. New arms pin the URL handed to the network layer byte for byte: a trailing run of punctuation, of slashes, a slash then every trimmed character, a fragment, host case and http all request exactly the given address; punctuation then a slash is refused with nothing sent; a given trailing slash is kept whether or not the model writes it. So an address the agent had posted itself, read back under a drifted name, counted as another author's and could be fetched. The PR body had listed name matching as an open residual; this closes it. fetchRecentPodMessages now returns each message's author id, the turn resolves the agent's own bot User the way the posting path derives it, and byOtherAuthors keeps only messages whose author id is known and is not the agent's. Both failures close: a message with no author id is treated as the agent's own, and when the agent's own user cannot be found no pod message gives an address (the mention still does). Arms: a collision-suffixed name and "Unknown User" both give no link; an unresolved own user admits no pod link but still opens the mention's.
