Android 17 Mangles Shortcut Icons

1. Black icon backgrounds. Transparent areas in icons has been previously rendered as white but will now be rendered as black due to an apparent Android 17 bug (since it violates Home screen color selection). The work-around is to flatten the icon in an image editor (e.g., Photoshop) that changes transparent to white (rather than black), and then set it as a Custom icon.

2. Mangled shortcuts. Upgrading to Android 17 does not seem to change existing Home screen shortcut icons, but if certain shortcuts are newly placed on the Home screen, they can appear badly zoomed (as below). The work-around is to create new shortcuts from scratch—just changing the icon in an existing shortcut does not solve the problem.
