QualCoder 4.0 beta - Macbook M2, 8GP RAM

In the installation the usual Mac problem (program is not secure, don't instal), easy to solve.
Installation will replace old version 3.8.2.
Program opens very slowly, about 30 seconds.
Program read only the last project used by 3.8.2, and will not open other projects.

I will continue testing.

I think Apple does some special security scanning on first launch of a new app. Subsequent starts should be a little faster.

Do you mean you cannot open other projects? What happens if you try?

Yes, I am not able to open other projects. After trying I am still in the same project, or in some cases an error window appears.

Thank you, that was helpful. The problem is the trailing "/" that macOS is apparently attaching to the path. QualCoder checks for the .qda ending, and a path ending with .qda/ will not be recognized as a valid QualCoder project. This is handled as if the user had canceled the dialog, so no error message is shown. I will fix that.

As a side note: We do not recommend opening QualCoder projects directly from cloud-synced folders. The cloud syncing might interfere with QualCoder's database access. In a worst-case scenario, this can lead to a corrupted project file.

I moved my project from Dropbox to hard disc. The problem remains.

Dropbox has nothing to do with the issue discussed here. That was just a side note.

Thank you, it works now! Beta 2 reads projects on Mac and on cloud. I will continue to the next bug!
