Pop-up windows

Pop-up windows in coding are useful, but they can be also confusing or distracting. Could there be an on/off option in settings/preferences.

Can you specify a bit more which "pop-up windows in coding" you mean and why they are distracting?

This is not important issue. People do coding different personal ways. Some might like these windows, but they can be disturbing, too. The pop-up window can block the view and slow the reading. Information of codes is already in the left margin, making the pop-up windows somehow obsolete. Maybe the picture makes clear what is my point.

Thank you, the screenshot helps a lot to understand what you mean. We'll have to think about this.
An option in the settings would be easy to add. But maybe it would make more sense to disable the tooltips in the text area completely if the new coding stripes are shown.
Or we make the tooltip more compact, without showing the coded text, which is repeated seven times in this example.

I think we could add a menu option in the text area menu - Tooltips on/off.
I can update this in a few minutes

OK I have added a Toggle to turn these on or off - right-click menu option in the text area
