# Licenses

Paperback is built on a great deal of work that other people gave away for free. This page credits all of it.

Paperback itself is under the [MIT license](https://github.com/trypsynth/paperback/blob/master/LICENSE.md), and everything it ships alongside is permissively licensed too, so nothing here restricts what you can do with the program.

## PDFium and wxWidgets

Paperback reads PDFs with [PDFium](https://pdfium.googlesource.com/pdfium/), the same engine Chrome uses, which is under the BSD 3-Clause license. The prebuilt copies it ships come from [bblanchon/pdfium-binaries](https://github.com/bblanchon/pdfium-binaries).

The desktop interface is [wxWidgets](https://www.wxwidgets.org/), under the wxWindows Library Licence.
