From 509834ffd6235ffbc4e69ecd9c856dbcd253ecb9 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Claude Date: Mon, 19 Oct 2026 23:25:15 +0700 Subject: [PATCH 1/4] tri coverage: five coverage facts per spec, the rules in specs/tri/coverage/coverage.t27; five negative-control gaps closed (Closes #11061) `tri coverage ...` prints one row per spec (tests, vacuous passes, negative controls by test name, seal MATCH, linked issue) and a total whose last line is `gaps G coverage N/D`, a fraction of counted facts and never a percentage. A fact that cannot be read counts as missing, so a blocked build is `unmeasured`. Exit 0 once printed, 1 on a gap with --strict, 2 when no spec matched (0/0 is not 100%). Every decision is in the spec, with 18 tests: the five facts, the closed list of seven negative-control name markers, the issue-link reader, the seal reader, the byte-exact row and total, the exit codes. The test-report reader and verdict are imported from specs/tri/test/report.t27 (what `tri test` uses), the byte writers from remote_job.t27; no body is copied (dupe_scan: the same 15 inherited names as master). The glue is cli/tri/src/coverage.rs (35 lines) and 4 lines in main.rs. Paid for by deleting scripts/trinity-pellis-pipeline/apply_defenses.py (144 lines, a one-off .tex patcher no file names). Gaps on the 29 specs of the analog, fpga, remote, lab and install groups, by this command's own rules: 5 before (all no-negative-control), 0 after, once the five edited seals are saved again. All five are closed in the specs: a test named for the negative control it already was (sar_kick, lab_t27b_report, prune), and a planted-fault test in each of the two PSP103 data specs. The exit is 0 once the report is printed, and 1 on a +; gap only when `--strict` is given (a report is not a gate unless it is asked to be). +; The command (cli/tri/src/coverage.rs, through `t27c gen-rust` in gen/rust/tri/coverage/coverage.rs) is glue: it +; lists the specs git knows for each pattern, runs `t27c test-report` and `t27c seal --verify` for each spec (at +; most JOBS at once, argument vectors, no shell), reads the spec's own text, and prints the rows and the total +; these functions write. Nothing is written to disk and no network is contacted. +; -- +; Searched before writing (FR-001, DRY): `t27c frontier` prints per spec REUSE or the reason to rebuild, from the +; seals' closure hashes: no test count, no negative control, no issue. `tri test` and specs/tri/test/report.t27 read +; one spec's test-report; their reader and verdict are imported here, not copied. `tri seals` (drift, twins, +; hollow, fresh) compares seals with the compiler or with each other, not a spec with its tests. `tri lab` and +; specs/tri/lab/receipt.t27 give the t27b lab's verdict per spec (tests, asserts) from the lab's own run, not the +; five facts. `tri pr preflight`/`tri land` judge the specs a branch changes, not a set chosen by pattern. +; `t27c suite` verifies every seal and counts the failures, and specs/verified/suite_jobs.t27 is the number of its +; subprocesses; it prints no row per spec and knows no negative control or issue. This spec has its own cap. +; Imported, not copied: line_end, span_is, lab_has_lit, lab_lit_at, digits, verdict, total, vacuous_passes, is_verdict, +; emit_byte, emit_str, emit_dec, fits. +; ASCII only (L3) +; phi^2 + 1/phi^2 = 3 | TRINITY + +module TriCoverage; + +use tri::lab::receipt::line_end; +use tri::lab::receipt::span_is; +use lab::text::lab_has_lit; +use lab::text::lab_lit_at; +use tri::lanes::lanes::digits; +use tri::test::report::verdict; +use tri::test::report::total; +use tri::test::report::vacuous_passes; +use tri::test::report::is_verdict; +use tri::test::report::LINE_TESTS; +use tri::test::report::V_GREEN; +use tri::test::report::V_FAILED; +use tri::test::report::V_NO_TEST; +use tri::test::report::V_UNCOUNTED; +use tri::remote::remote_job::emit_byte; +use tri::remote::remote_job::emit_str; +use tri::remote::remote_job::emit_dec; +use tri::remote::remote_job::fits; + +// The five facts, in the order a row prints them. Four discards improved and are re-pinned to the observed counts: ternary_gemm 1566 -> 1242, base/ternary_memory 52 -> 27, multi_lang_harness 88 -> 28, notebooklm 409 -> 140. The cap follows the count down. 81 -> 73 (2026-10-18, Refs #10075 #10094): #10101 made seven IGLA CODER specs (arch, dataset, eval, pipeline, tokenizer, training, weights) and #10095 made nn/attention consume every token and pass every phase; the ratchet reported each as an UNEXPECTED PASS and the pins are dropped. Two pins fell with their channels: bench_proxy 738 -> 696 (stray-brace 1 -> 0, top-level-resync 25 -> 0) and prm 521 -> 520 (stray-brace 1 -> 0). The cap follows the count down. 74 -> 71 (2026-10-10, #8345): #8209 made specs/math/constants.t27 sample its forall properties, so its top-level-resync channel fell 37 -> 0 (discard 386 -> 349); the entry is re-recorded with the bdd-block-fallback channel only, and the cap follows the count down to the 71 entries it already held. 77 -> 74 (2026-10-08, #7804): the three GoldenFloat lesson specs this change rewrote -- math/phi_split_optimality (pinned 131), math/radix_economy (55) and numeric/phi_ratio (145) -- now consume every token (their `forall` properties are sampled asserts) and pass every phase; the ratchet reported each as an UNEXPECTED PASS and nothing else moved. The pins are dropped and the cap follows the count down. 113 -> 109 (2026-10-05, #6437): four specs whose files were Rust-flavoured pseudo-t27 (a `loop`/`break` with `..` ranges, a `type Trit = Trit` self-alias, `format!`, `for (k, v)` and `if let`) were rewritten in t27 and now pass every phase -- ar/datalog_engine, ar/ternary_logic, test_framework/graph_drift_detection, test_framework/verilog_bench_harness. The ratchet reported each as an UNEXPECTED PASS; nothing else moved. The cap follows the count down. 113 -> 111 (2026-10-04, #6186): typecheck now resolves Zig's prefix optional `?T` (it only knew `T?`) and lets an optional accept its payload, so `specs/pins/parser.t27` (line 330, `cannot assign U32 to ?u32`) and `specs/port/scripts/gen_w378.t27` pass every phase; the ratchet reported both as UNEXPECTED PASS and nothing else moved.
