Solved: Is it possible to have something similar to an Option<Nonzero<u32>> that "plays nicely" with IntoBytes and FromBytes?

In low level hardware and communications I often run across values that are effectively something like Option<Nonzero>.

(although sometimes it might be u32::MAX indicating None rather than zero)

I'm quite confident that that core::option::Option does not implement IntoBytes and FromBytes.

Do any off the shelf implementations exist for this sort of Option-like type that implement both IntoBytes and FromBytes?

We do implement IntoBytes for Option<NonZero*>, and also FromBytes.

Can you give an example of some code you'd like to write but cannot?

I missed that specific variant, I only checked for generic implementations on Option<T>.

That probably solves my problem, I can just refer to that implementation for my custom types

In a embedded system I'm looking to represent [0xFF, 0xFF] and [0xFF, 0xFF, 0xFF, 0xFF] as None on a custom range limited integer and (half precision, or custom precision) range limited floating point types.

I've got a lot of familiarly yet to gain with zerocopy. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
