From 40dc18b383b519599cc7901974a5599ec6e8e5fa Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Mark Kreyman Date: Mon, 19 Oct 2026 07:09:22 -0600 Subject: [PATCH 1/2] A reopened issue re-enters intake as a new generation (US-47.10) chg closes a chg-loop issue only after its fingerprint stays silent, and reopens it when the problem recurs. loopctl ignored that reopen once the issue's story had advanced. An issue now has one intake record per generation: a reopen whose newest record's loop has ended (a closure row, or a story at merged, deployed, verified or done) starts generation N+1, which triage picks up like a new issue. Earlier generations, their story and closure stay untouched as the first fix's provenance. The issue closer removes another generation's loopctl:resolution-* label before adding its own (new PullRequestSource.remove_label/3), and counts a closed issue carrying its label as its own close only when this closure recorded labelled_at. A `reopened` delivery for an issue whose + newest record has a closure, or whose story is `merged`, `deployed`, `verified` or `done`, + starts a new record at `pending_triage`. The earlier record, its story and its closure stay + as they were. **Deploy ordering:** once the migration runs, a machine still on the previous + release answers every `issues` webhook delivery with a 500 until it is replaced, because + its insert names the dropped index. GitHub does not retry these. After the rollout, for + each enrolled repository, list the webhook's deliveries + (`GET /repos/{owner}/{repo}/hooks/{hook_id}/deliveries`) and, for every `issues` delivery + in the deploy window whose status code is not 2xx, call + `POST /repos/{owner}/{repo}/hooks/{hook_id}/deliveries/{delivery_id}/attempts`. A + redelivery reuses its `X-GitHub-Delivery` id, so one that had in fact succeeded is not + applied twice. No manual data step. `down` refuses while any issue has a second + generation. + The issue closer now removes any OTHER loopctl resolution label from the open issue + before adding its own, so a reopened issue's later close never carries two + (`PullRequestSource.remove_label/3`, `DELETE /repos/{owner}/{repo}/issues/{n}/labels/{name}`, + which needs the same `issues: write` the closer already uses). A closed issue found + carrying only this closure's label now counts as loopctl's own close only when the + closure recorded `labelled_at`; otherwise it is `abandoned` with `closed_by_other`, + because the label may be an earlier generation's. - **chg-server's change-events webhook (US-47.3): `POST /api/v1/change_events/:source_id`.** For a `chg` intake source.
