Periphery causing high CPU spikes

As of recently, I'm getting high CPU spikes on the servers where I run periphery. I enabled verbose logging, but I couldn't find out what's causing the spikes.

Once I bring down the periphyery container, everything goes back to normal.

We just noticed the same behavior, about every 15s the CPU usage on our Proxmox node jumps from normal 3-8% to 45% for 1-2s and we quickly nailed it down to all the periphery containers.
