Sonoff Thread Mesh Router delayed

I have been working for the last week on getting a build of the SiLabs Thread Mesh Router firmware for the EFR32MG21 radio chipset in the Sonoff Panel Pro. I have been reverse engineering this as I don't have the any official sample code or documentation for the Sonoff implementation.

While I still think it is possible, I am realising that there is a reason that Thread is still not killing Zigbee and ZWave, because it is damned hard. Currently 0.8.4 is held back mostly for Thread so my plan is to factor it out of this release and maybe plan it more realistically for 0.8.6+

Thread no longer blocks releases and remains research work rather than a planned feature.

I’m closing this old release-status thread; if the radio work resumes it deserves a fresh update.
