I tried to reduce my example to remove all the animations and still show the problem, so it's a little different than what I originally posted, although the flame is practically identical.

This was harder to show than I expected. Most of the flames I tried to make would show up the same between Swan and JWF.
In this you'll notice I have pretty severe curves in the gradient - but when I first saw the issue they were not this severe too, so I think regular curves show the problem too. But at least this examples hows a very colorful JWF render while in Swan it's very flat.
