SciPlot ANOVA Studio

This Shiny app lets you:

  • upload a CSV, TSV, or delimited text file,
  • run one-way ANOVA,
  • run two-way ANOVA with interaction terms,
  • perform Tukey-adjusted pairwise post-hoc tests,
  • draw box plots or violin plots,
  • annotate significant (*, **, ***) or non-significant (ns) group differences.

Expected data shape

Your file should contain:

  • one numeric response column,
  • one categorical grouping column for one-way ANOVA,
  • an optional second categorical grouping column for two-way ANOVA.

Required R packages

Install these packages before running the app:

install.packages(c(
  "shiny",
  "bslib",
  "ggplot2",
  "dplyr",
  "readr",
  "DT",
  "emmeans",
  "broom",
  "tidyr"
))

Run

shiny::runApp()

Run with Docker

You do not need your own server to test the app in Docker. Running it locally is enough.

Build the image:

docker build -t sci-plot .

Start the container:

docker run --rm -p 3838:3838 sci-plot

Then open:

http://localhost:3838

If you want to stop it, press Ctrl+C in the terminal where the container is running.

Run with GitHub Codespaces

This repository includes a ready-to-use Codespaces configuration.

  1. Open the repository on GitHub.
  2. Select Code > Codespaces > Create codespace on main.
  3. Wait for the dev container build to finish.
  4. The app will start automatically and the forwarded 3838 port will open in the browser.

If the app is not running, start it manually in the Codespaces terminal:

R -e "shiny::runApp('/workspaces/sci_plot', host='0.0.0.0', port=3838)"
