Crashes on macOS Tahoe 26.6

What happened

I had this installed and working on two older Apple Silicon Macbooks (M1 and M1 Max).

After one of the latest macOS Updates, not sure which exactly, none of these
(also older than UGS 2.1.24) installations run anymore.

The startup stops with the welcome screen showing „Done loading modules“.
Then UGS freezes.

Sorry I can't reproduce the problem. Both version 2.1.24 and 2.1.26 installs fine for me on Tahoe 26.6.2.

When I delete everything under Lib/Caches/ugs and Lib/AppSupport/ugs the GUI pops up,
but it then immediately locks up.

Is there any other place where information is stored?
I think there has to be, because the port selection field has a non existing USB serial in it.

Could that be the case of the lockup?
The log still does not show any errors or irregularities.

No idea why it behaves the way it does, I'd need something to show in logs or be able to reproduce it to figure this out.

The directories to look for are:

This is where the serial info was stored.
I erased everything, but it’s now always locking up as soon as the window is opened.

Tried this on the two M1 Macbooks as well as another M5 Max one, which had never before
seen any UGS installation.

I tried the Rosetta2 variant you provide, but that now locks up exactly in the same manner.

I think that the visualizer (or a race condition in it) is causing this.

Thread dump (kill -3 on the JVM PID) taken while UGS was hung showed the Swing EDT stuck in VisualizationPanel.<init> (JOGL init, OSXUtil.RunOnMaiThread), with the AppKit thread simultaneosly stuck in CAccessibility.getAccesibleRole. Both threads waiting on each other; deadlock (I guess).

Couldn't just disable the visualizer module (too many other modules depend on it?; fails to start then). Instead overrode the window-system state in the userdir (config/Windows2/Modes/editor_secondary/VisualizerTopComponent.wstcref, opened="false") so the Visualizer panel isn't auto-created at startup.

Et voilà:
Now starts and runs normally without it.
Manually opening the visualizer though, afterwards via Windows -> Visualizer, reproduces the same lockup.

Maybe it's helpful; but of course also useless if you cannot reproduce this behaviour;
while I am seeing this on three Macs.
