Experimental Space Flight is an AR config option that is still in development. It allows users to pilot their rocket throughout the solar system and stations depending on blocks within the rocket.
Current features
- Launch with the config option enabled & a guidance computer empty to enter
- Fly around using RCS mode to move towards bodies
- Enter bodies/space stations by thrusting towards them and getting within a close radius
Things that will NOT become features
- Interstellar travel while in ESF. That is reserved for space stations
- They are still rocket entities, so being able to interact with machines & such will work just the same. We are not doing FP-style ships
- AR is a peaceful mod. We will NOT be adding weapons
- We are not doing spaceplanes/runways/etc. You will be using rockets with ESF same as normal launches.
- Prefab entities. Build your rockets out of blocks, same as before
- Fancy new fuels specifically for ESF. You'll be using standard rocket fuels for it.
- Cloaking. Spacecraft IRL cannot be cloaked, neither can these. Without weapons, there is also no need for this.
