Agrisettle

Forward-commitment settlement infrastructure for agricultural commodity trade, on Stellar.

Stellar Status License SCF

What we're building

A cooperative and a commodity buyer agree price and quantity before harvest. The buyer's deposit sits in a neutral Soroban escrow. It releases against an independent warehouse operator's grading receipt — not against either party's word. A capped, tranched advance reaches the cooperative before harvest as structured input access. Each member farmer's share of the contract is recorded on chain at lock-in, so what's owed to whom is verifiable by the farmers themselves, not asserted by a cooperative lead.

Settlement runs on Stellar because the primitives already exist there: Stellar Disbursement Platform for farmer-level split payouts a bank can't do economically, native claimable balances for conditional advance tranches, Reflector for FX reference, and licensed anchors for fiat cash-out — none of it built from scratch.

Flagship product

The forward-commitment platform described above. Warehouse-anchored, Naira-denominated, stablecoin-settled, no marketplace in v1 — it serves counterparties who already trade with each other and lack an instrument, not strangers who need matching.

  • Full PRD — version-controlled in the repo, currently v0.7, including a full audit trail of every prior version's mistakes
  • Roadmap — the execution plan below is the summary; that file is the one to actually work from

Where things stand

Phase Focus Status
0 — Validation Real buyer conversations, warehouse operator outreach, escrow contract on testnet, counsel engaged 🟡 In progress
1 — Testnet Full escrow, allocation ledger, SDP integration, mapped to SCF's MVP/testnet/mainnet funding tranches ⚪ Not started
2 — Mainnet pilot One crop, one region, one warehouse partner, closed cohort ⚪ Not started
3 — Prove the loop Second cooperative and operator, multi-crop ⚪ Not started
4 — Build on proven trust Tokenized receipts, collateralized lending, parametric insurance ⚪ Not started

Full detail, weekly breakdown, and exit criteria per phase are in ROADMAP.md.

Why "Agrisettle," not just "HarvestLock"

HarvestLock is the first product. Agrisettle is the settlement layer it sits on — the same escrow, allocation, and attestation primitives extend to the Phase 3–4 work (receipt-backed lending, parametric insurance) as separate products sharing this infrastructure, rather than being bolted onto one app's scope.

Stack

Rust (Soroban contracts) · TypeScript (API, both frontends) · PostgreSQL · Stellar Disbursement Platform (deployed, not forked) · Reflector (SEP-40) · licensed Stellar anchors for on/off-ramp. Full reasoning for every choice is in the PRD, §17.

Brand

Palette, mark, and usage rules are in BRANDING.md.

Status and contact

Pre-validation, actively building. Not yet fundraising or onboarding pilot partners publicly — if you're a Nigerian commodity buyer with an existing outgrower programme, or a warehouse/receipt operator, open an issue on HarvestLock or reach out directly.
