etree.tostring() returns bytes by default, while get_view() returns the arch as a str. With a custom filter on a model, overrides that handle the arch as text fail: with l10n_es_partner, Contacts raise "TypeError: a bytes-like object is required, not 'str'". Assisted-by: Claude Opus 5.5
