Noema v0.22.0-rc.1 adds opt-in
db.nosyncstorage, database size diagnostics and explicit backed-up compaction, and focused MCP profiles while retaining the full/mcptool set. Retrieval tools advertise read intent without disabling usage signals; startup no longer repeatedly rebuilds search for unavailable trace files.Windows qualification exposed locked-file archive reads; compaction now closes SQLite before backup while retaining the Noema lock, backups omit the transient lock, and restore recreates it before recording recovery hashes. Full local tests and Linux disk-full cases passed after this fix.
Storage migration preserves configuration content and Unix permissions, supports interrupted-operation recovery, and uses a runtime lock outside the synced cortex. Documentation explicitly requires all clients—including direct SQLite tools—to remain stopped throughout maintenance.
Release preparation includes curated notes, Windows storage/recovery CI, storage tests on all release platforms, and a prerelease guard that leaves the stable Homebrew package unchanged.
Validation: formatting and strict Clippy; 295 Rust tests and 60 Python tests; earlier disposable Linux ENOSPC and actual interrupted-VACUUM recovery checks; signed trace and usage federation exchange against official v0.21.9 with repeated-sync deduplication. Hosted Windows storage/recovery passed all 15 applicable tests after the backup fix. Final optimized storage scenarios and actual mid-VACUUM recovery/restore passed again; release-platform jobs will verify all packaged targets. This PR prepares a prerelease on
next; it does not promote v0.22.0 stable.
