feat: expose backup consistency and captured volume coverage - #767
Successful backups now report the consistency actually achieved and a capture-time list of included and excluded persistent volumes. The backup details drawer shows that stored evidence, so a primary-world backup cannot be mistaken for a complete copy of extra installation or mod volumes.
The manifest is recorded before capture and survives later template edits. Extra volumes can optionally declare backupRole: data or rebuildable; both remain excluded from the current primary-volume copy. Historical captures retain unknown coverage. Consistency distinguishes agent-confirmed quiesce, an already-stopped/drained source, unsupported or unavailable agent raw copies, and crash-consistent CSI snapshots. Failed captures and completed Jobs without a snapshot ID cannot claim an achieved guarantee.
Depends on #760 and #766 (included in this branch). The UI build also needs #759's unrelated existing CreateServer correction. Closes#720. This implements the maintainer's first-step scope; no automatic stop/copy/restart policy or multi-volume backup is introduced.
Validation: operator production and controller ordinary/envtest source compilation passed. UI TypeScript compilation passed with #759 applied temporarily. CRDs, deepcopy and localization outputs were regenerated. Added coverage/legacy/immutability/consistency/reconcile and UI regressions for CI; tests were not run locally under repository policy. Quiesce still depends on each module's commands and does not establish application-wide consistency.
The automatic stop/copy/restart policy and multi-volume Restic recovery deferred by the maintainer are tracked separately in #801.
Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Backup details now show achieved consistency and capture-time volume coverage, including included claims, classifications, and mount paths. Older backups without recorded coverage are identified as unavailable.
Extra storage volumes can be classified as data or rebuildable; this does not add them to backups, which continue to capture only the primary data claim.
Improvements
Backups of stopped game servers can proceed without waking them. Live backup cleanup is tied to the original game process, and source changes can prevent a backup from being marked successful.

BackupVolumeCoverage.CoverageReason is tagged json:"reason", and the CRD schema defines the same reason property. The drawer’s reason lookup matches the API output.
Walkthrough
The changes add Pod-UID-bound quiesce operations and source checks. Backups record capture-time volume coverage and consistency outcomes. The operator API, CRD schemas, documentation, and backup details expose this metadata. Tests cover stopped-source backups and cleanup tied to the original Pod.
The agent exposes authenticated Pod-UID-bound identity and quiesce routes. The operator client checks Pod identity before quiescing, and the agent container receives its Pod UID from Kubernetes.
Backup preparation validates workload and Pod identity, checks stopped-source drainage, and binds cleanup to the original Pod. Cleanup waits for proof that the original process has exited before clearing its obligation without an agent call. Tests cover stopped sources, Pod replacement, recovery, and the end-to-end backup and restore path.
Backup status records capture-time volume coverage and consistency. The API and CRDs add manifest fields and extra-volume backupRole values. The operator, documentation, translations, and backup details report consistency and coverage, including when legacy metadata is unavailable.
Issue 716: The changes add stopped-source preparation, drainage checks, and Pod-UID-bound cleanup.
Issue 717: The changes add source identity and drain validation for live quiesced backups; worker placement and quiesce-duration concerns remain separate.
Issue 720: The changes record achieved consistency, capture-time volume coverage, and legacy unknown coverage.
Issue 731: The capture manifest records workload layout and version-related evidence; staged template rollout remains separate.
Issue 801: This PR records current coverage but does not implement the deferred stopped-backup policy or multi-volume Restic recovery.
Issue 719: The changes record consistency for snapshot outcomes; the pending-snapshot failure behavior remains separate.
Issue 728: The manifest reports included and excluded workload volumes, but does not implement panel-state recovery.

Explanation
The reviewed changes remain connected to #720. Pod-bound agent calls, source identity and stopped-source checks, cleanup safety, immutable manifest recording, consistency conditions, generated API and CRD changes, documentation, and UI tests support reliable consistency reporting or immutable volume coverage. No unrelated production feature is established by the reviewed changes.

Explanation
PR #767 implements the reporting subset of #720. recordBackupManifest pins capture-time volume metadata, backupConsistencyCondition separates copy completion from achieved consistency, legacy captures use LegacyUnknown, and the API and UI expose the stored data. The remaining #720 coding requirements are not implemented. BackupSpec has no administrator-selectable consistency policy or required-level enforcement. Restic and CSI still capture only the primary claim. No required-extra-volume restore fixture or multi-volume restore is added. Restore-time manifest validation before destructive changes is also not shown. The PR description confirms that policy and multi-volume recovery are deferred.
Resolution
Implement the remaining #720 requirements: add an administrator-selectable consistency policy with strict unsupported-quiesce behavior and tests for each policy outcome; add multi-volume capture and restore for required extra volumes with the required fixture; and validate the pinned manifest before destructive restore. If the maintainer intentionally defers these requirements, split them into a directly linked issue and update the linkage so #720 no longer requires them from this PR.

Explanation
Docstring coverage is 28.21% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 39 functions across 31 files.

Updated in 96a7143 with the legacy cleanup safety fix from #766 and upstream’s fixes for the operator lint error and frpc image vulnerability. Recovery without the original Pod UID retains ownership until process-exit proof, with regression coverage. Source compilation and workflow checks passed.
The earlier tunnel ARM64 job was cancelled during dependency download; its log does not show a test failure. This push starts a fresh full CI run, including image rebuilds.

# Gameplane Constitution
## Core Principles
### I. E2E-Tested Delivery (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
Every feature MUST be verifiable end-to-end before it is considered done. A change is
incomplete — regardless of unit or integration coverage — until it has a corresponding
E2E test exercising the real user- or operator-facing path (dashboard flow, API contract,
CRD reconciliation loop, or agent behavior) in `test/e2e/`, added to a bucket in
`test/e2e/buckets.sh` per the project's e2e conventions. Unit tests (`make test-go`,
`make test-web`) and envtest integration tests (`make test-integration`) are required
supporting layers, not substitutes. New E2E tests MUST call `t.Parallel()`, use
per-test unique resource names, and respect existing shared-state guards
(`ociPushMu`, `ensureResticRepo`, per-bucket login budgets).

Add a bounded admission deadline; do not fail on the first non-Running observation.
prepareBackupQuiesce claims ownership and fences the StatefulSet before prepareBackupSource. An absent or non-Running initial source returns (false, nil), so the Backup requeues every 5 seconds. BackupSpec has no timeout, and lifecycle ownership explicitly has no stale-owner timeout. The job deadline cannot help because the Job is created only after preparation completes.
The fence can prevent ordinary StatefulSet template reconciliation while the owner remains held. A default BackupSchedule also skips later occurrences instead of failing the active Backup.
Add a short startup grace period, such as a check based on b.CreationTimestamp, and fail the Backup after that period through the existing cleanup path. Immediate fail-fast would reject legitimate startup or pod-restart races.
