• Rewrote the watcher around a single observation pipeline. Backend callbacks are treated as invalidations and confirmed with lstat, stat, or readdir before any event is emitted, so the final state after a burst of changes matches the filesystem.

Superseded by merged #474 (squash commit 4dd7d6f). The replacement includes Chokidar 6/readdirp updates, the explicitly approved Node.js >=22.22.0 support change, directory/root permission recovery and real-backend consumer regressions. Exact replacement head d86a5cd passed all 19 GitHub checks, including Node22/24 CI, six cross-platform path jobs and four CodeQL analyses. Current-main local full gate passed 2961 tests with6 existing skips; exact22.22 packed consumer proof and actual FileWatcher/Indexer recovery passed. This does not relabel the original #471 failing CI or the separately preserved #470 local failure as passing. Original branch and evidence retained.
