scripts/check-error-code-mappings.mjs Fails in CI Because SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE Is Missing From Frontend ERROR_CODE_MESSAGES

  • Title: [Bug][DevOps] scripts/check-error-code-mappings.mjs fails in CI because SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE is missing from frontend ERROR_CODE_MESSAGES
  • Labels: bug, devops, frontend, backend, good first issue
  • Location: backend/src/errors/errorCodes.ts:51, frontend/src/app/utils/transactionErrors.ts:35-65, scripts/check-error-code-mappings.mjs:40-48
  • Description:
backend/src/errors/errorCodes.ts:51 defines ErrorCode.SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE = 'SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE', which was added for 503 responses. However, ERROR_CODE_MESSAGES in frontend/src/app/utils/transactionErrors.ts:35-65 was never updated to include SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE. Running node scripts/check-error-code-mappings.mjs immediately exits with code 1. Additionally, scripts/check-error-code-mappings.mjs:43 tests codePattern.test(frontendContent) against the entire file text rather than scoping the regex check to the ERROR_CODE_MESSAGES object body.
  • Impact:
The check-error-code-mappings.mjs CI guard fails on the current codebase, and any error code name appearing in a comment anywhere in transactionErrors.ts would falsely pass the script if not scoped to ERROR_CODE_MESSAGES.
  • Suggested Fix:
Add SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE: "The service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later", to ERROR_CODE_MESSAGES in frontend/src/app/utils/transactionErrors.ts, and scope scripts/check-error-code-mappings.mjs to extract keys specifically from export const ERROR_CODE_MESSAGES.

Resolved in PR #2032. Added SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE to ERROR_CODE_MESSAGES in transactionErrors.ts, fixed regex character class in check-error-code-mappings.mjs, and scoped checking to ERROR_CODE_MESSAGES.
