Summary
In the Kanban Delegate to Agent dialog, the Model and Effort dropdowns remain empty for all providers except Claude.
As a result, delegation to providers such as Codex cannot be configured properly.
Current Behavior
- Open a Kanban task.
- Click Delegate to Agent.
- Select a non-Claude provider/agent.
- Observe that:
Model: Empty
Effort: Empty
while Claude-related agents populate correctly.
Expected Behavior
When selecting a provider or agent, the dialog should dynamically load:
Provider
↓
Available Models
↓
Available Effort Levels
Example:
Codex
├─ Sol
├─ Terra
└─ ...
Effort
├─ Low
├─ Medium
├─ High
└─ ...
Impact
- Delegation to non-Claude providers is difficult or impossible.
- Users cannot choose the execution model.
- Users cannot configure reasoning effort.
- Multi-provider workflows are effectively blocked.
Possible Cause
The model/effort list may only be populated for Claude providers while other providers are not exposing or loading their capabilities correctly.
Potential issues:
- Provider discovery failure
- Missing API call
- UI binding problem
- Incorrect capability mapping
Suggested Improvement
Instead of hardcoding values:
Provider → Models → Effort Levels
should be loaded dynamically from each configured provider.
If a provider does not support effort levels, display:
instead of an empty dropdown.
Additional UX Improvement
Display an informative message when no values are available:
No models available for this provider.
Check provider configuration.
rather than showing empty fields.
Priority
High
Expected Result
All supported providers should expose their available:
- Models
- Effort levels (when supported)
in the Kanban delegation dialog, just as Claude providers currently do.
