What changed

This PR adds isolated SQLite and MySQL acceptance coverage and the first independent MAX-API task-plugin foundation.

  • Adds safe SQLite archive, restore, and business-snapshot rehearsal tooling.
  • Adds opt-in MySQL startup/schema compatibility checks with certificate-pinned TLS support.
  • Adds isolated task-billing contract coverage and explicit authorization for a non-standard disposable MySQL schema name.
  • Adds a host-owned task-plugin manifest validator and atomic in-memory registry with route/model conflict checks.
  • Adds a deterministic mock task-plugin driver and verifies its trusted usage envelope through SQLite settlement replay.

Validation

  • SQLite task settlement and mock-plugin replay tests pass.
  • MySQL task-billing contract passed against a dedicated disposable schema before it was retained for audit.
  • pkg/taskplugin, pkg/taskusage, and the service polling boundary pass.
  • go vet, JSON wrapper checks, test mirror synchronization, and diff checks pass.

PostgreSQL, real providers, Redis, browser E2E, and JavaScript plugin execution remain outside this PR. The task-plugin code keeps pricing and settlement authority in MAX-API.

model/sqlite_upgrade_test.go: 3

262-266: Cleanup ordering from the earlier review is addressed.

InitLogDB() now runs before t.Cleanup registers CloseDB(). A failed InitLogDB() no longer triggers a nil dereference in cleanup.

125-125: No change required for the directory permission hint.

The directory is a t.TempDir() child that holds synthetic test data. The 0755 mode is acceptable here.

301-301: No change required for the subprocess hint.

The command runs os.Args[0] with fixed arguments, and the configuration is passed through an environment variable. The input is not attacker-controlled.

347-347: Check the destination against each source file path as well as its directory.

prepareDestination compares root only with filepath.Dir(sourceAbs). A destination inside a source directory is rejected. Suppose the source directory is inside the destination, for example --destination /data with --primary /data/db/ledger.sqlite. isWithin(root, dir) is true, so that case is also rejected. The check therefore covers both directions. However, it also rejects a destination that is a sibling of the source file in a parent such as /data/archive when the source is /data/ledger.sqlite. The documentation describes that rejection as intended. No defect remains here.

Review comments at @model/main.go:
- Around line 273-293: Update the configName construction in the MySQL TLS setup
to encode the full expected fingerprint rather than only its first eight bytes,
preventing distinct pins from reusing the same registered TLS config. Update the
related expectations in the MySQL TLS tests to match the full fingerprint
suffix.
- Around line 276-287: Suppress the gosec G402 finding on InsecureSkipVerify in
the TLS configuration with a concise justification that VerifyConnection
enforces the configured SHA-256 leaf certificate pin; preserve the existing pin
validation.
- Around line 294-304: Replace the strings.Cut and url.ParseQuery rewrite with
mysqldriver.ParseDSN, set the parsed configuration’s TLSConfig to configName,
and return the result of cfg.FormatDSN(). Remove the identical hasQuery branches
so DSN parsing and formatting follow the driver’s rules.

Review comments at @pkg/taskplugin/manifest.go:
- Around line 194-201: Update validateRoutes to validate query routes’
TaskIDParam against the :name segments in route.Path. Reject a non-empty value
that does not match a path parameter, and preserve the existing behavior when
TaskIDParam is omitted.
- Around line 320-327: Update isASCII to validate the string with
utf8.ValidString once before iterating, then keep the per-rune ASCII range check
inside the loop.

Review comments at @pkg/taskplugin/registry_test.go:
- Line 98: Remove the redundant `index := index` copy from the loop in the test;
Go 1.22 and later provide a distinct `index` for each iteration.

Review comments at @pkg/taskplugin/registry.go:
- Around line 90-93: Update validateModels to reject model names with leading or
trailing whitespace instead of trimming them; keep the original names unchanged
so Publish indexing and route validation use consistent values.

Review comments at @tools/sqliteops/main.go:
- Around line 518-522: Update samePath to avoid case-insensitive string
comparison: first compare cleaned absolute paths exactly, then use os.Stat and
os.SameFile to recognize paths referring to the same existing file; return false
when either stat fails.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Keep the original model slice when Models contains padded names.

validateModels trims each name before it checks for duplicates and empty values. Publish then indexes the untrimmed names. If a manifest has " m", ModelCandidates("m") does not find it. Route validation also compares untrimmed names against the trimmed set. A route can therefore fail to reference " m". Reject names that have surrounding whitespace in validateModels. Do not silently trim them.

Review comments at @tools/sqliteops/main.go:

the overlap validation in prepareDestination to account for symlinked
directories. Resolve both roots with filepath.EvalSymlinks before comparing
them, or reject symlinked targets and destinations, so overlap checks use actual
filesystem locations rather than lexical paths.

pkg/taskplugin/manifest.go: 2

194-201: Validate TaskIDParam for query routes.

validateRoutes does not check route.TaskIDParam. A query route can name a parameter that does not appear in its path. The consumer that extracts the task ID then gets an empty value and reports no error.

125-133: Reject padded model names instead of trimming them.

validateModels trims names before it checks them. Registry.Publish and route validation then use the untrimmed names, so the two sets can disagree.

pkg/taskplugin/registry.go: 2

79-89: Detect route conflicts against the registry and against the manifest's own routes.

The conflict check reads only current.routes. ValidateManifest already rejects duplicate routes inside one manifest, so this is safe today. Route conflicts against other plugins are rejected as expected. The existing binding identifies the conflicting plugin correctly.

90-93: Model index uses untrimmed names.

This finding duplicates the earlier comment about padded model names.

pkg/taskplugin/registry_test.go: 1

98-98: Delete the loop-variable copy.

The module targets Go 1.25, so index := index has no effect. golangci-lint reports this line as copyloopvar.

518-522: Use a case-sensitive or file-identity comparison in samePath.

strings.EqualFold treats /data/Ledger.sqlite and /data/ledger.sqlite as one file. On a case-sensitive file system, these are two different files. In that case collectSources skips the separate log database and its sidecars, and verify still passes. Use os.SameFile to compare file identity.

273-273: The TLS config name uses only 8 bytes of the pin.

This issue was already raised. Two fingerprints with the same first 8 bytes map to one registered config. The second connection then reuses the first pin. Use the full fingerprint in configName.

294-303: Use the driver DSN parser for the tls rewrite.

This issue was already raised. strings.Cut on the first ? corrupts DSNs whose password contains ?. url.ParseQuery with Encode also re-encodes and reorders parameters. Use mysqldriver.ParseDSN, set TLSConfig, and call FormatDSN().

276-287: InsecureSkipVerify with a leaf pin is an intentional pattern.

This issue was already raised. Add a //nolint:gosec justification.

create a quiesced SQLite WAL fixture with committed, uncheckpointed business
data before backup begins, then restore it and compare the restored business
snapshot with the source snapshot. Ensure the test exercises SQLite recovery
from a real WAL rather than relying on a synthetic sidecar.

Review comments at @pkg/taskplugin/registry.go:
- Around line 94-98: Update the `byMethod` sorting comparator in the registry
publication flow to break equal `routeSpecificity` ties deterministically,
ordering first by `pluginKey` and then by `route.Path`. Preserve descending
specificity so `MatchRoute` selects the same highest-specificity route as
before.

Review comments at @tools/sqliteops/main.go:
- Around line 383-384: Update readManifest to validate the required database
roles and ensure each role’s main-file entry is present before accepting the
manifest. Keep the existing schema-version and non-empty-files checks, and
reject manifests that omit the primary database.
- Line 341: Update verifyArchive to check each listed path with the same
regular-file validation used by copyRegularFile before calling fingerprintFile,
rejecting symlinks so successful verification guarantees the files can be
copied.

88-89: An empty override still accepts a DSN with no database name.

If TEST_TASK_BILLING_MYSQL_DATABASE is unset, allowedDatabase is "". A DSN without a schema parses to config.DBName == "". The equality check then passes and skips the disposable-schema guard. A previous review comment reported the same issue, and this code is unchanged.

Proposed fix

If TEST_MYSQL_SCHEMA_AUDIT_DATABASE or TEST_MYSQL_MIGRATION_DATABASE is unset, a DSN with no schema name passes these checks. The previous consolidated review comment already covered these sites. Add allowedDatabase == "" || to each mismatch condition.
