Closes #439

What

The release glide (ease-out after letting go of zoom in or out) is back with the high resolution cursor, and the Release glide setting is live for it. With that cursor it stops just before its slow tail, on the level on screen (EaseOutShouldStop).

Why it was off, and why it works now

It was turned off in #427 because the slow tail shook and showed the image doubled. The doubling was the smooth-zoom ladder stepping back below a request it had overtaken, fixed in #438.

Measured (scripted, 144 fps capture plus Wind's level trace, zoom speed 2.7, glide 115 ms)

Mode Glide after zoom-in after zoom-out Backward steps Pointer during glide
0.27.1 (no glide) none none 0 steady
this PR (stops before the tail) 240-260 ms 255 ms 0 steady (max 1 px)
full tail (rejected) 490-550 ms 550 ms 0 steady, but the tail lands in 0.5-0.9 % hops that read as shake
tail snapped to the exact level (rejected) 550 ms 550 ms 0 shakes 11-13 px

Tests

  • build.bat test: 610 passed, 0 failed.
  • Playwright: 191 passed (Release glide stays enabled with the high resolution cursor).
  • build.bat and build.bat config build clean. Installed locally as 0.28.0.

Version: 0.27.1 -> 0.28.0 (feature). Release unsigned as before.

The glide was cut short (#375) and then turned off (#427) because its slow tail shook and showed
the image doubled. That was the ladder stepping back below a request it had overtaken, fixed in
#438. Measured 2026-10-10 (speed 2.7, 115 ms): the glide runs 490-550 ms instead of 240-260 ms,
no backward step, no jump, pointer steady (max 5 px). EaseOutShouldStop is gone and the Release
glide setting is live again with the high resolution cursor.

Field: the full tail lands in ladder hops, which read as shake. The glide now stops on the level on
screen once it moves less per frame than clean levels are apart (EaseOutShouldStop, restored):
240-260 ms of glide at speed 2.7 / 115 ms, no backward step, pointer steady. 0.27.1 had none.
