Issues

• IpmiClient timeout: cleanup runs alongside the still-running worker, and Close Session is never confirmed

  bug

• Support extension network functions (DCMI 2Ch, group extension, OEM 30h-3Fh) in custom commands

  enhancement

• SerialOverLan session lifecycle: no BMC key, no cleanup on failed activation or deactivation, alternate-port session leak

  bug
MetricsHub/ipmi-java#130 · Filter by author bertysentry opened on Oct 8, 2026

• Sensor output: zero thresholds reported as missing, readings for 'no analog reading' records, OEM sensors with one state byte

• GetFrusRunner: FRU 0 failures fail getFrus(), FRU 0 missing or duplicated, failed chunks shift FRU data

• SDR walk aborts on a Get SDR reply without record data

  bug

• Keep-alive is disabled by default: ConnectionManager(port, pingPeriod) overwrites the connection.properties period with -1

  bug
MetricsHub/ipmi-java#126 · Filter by author bertysentry opened on Oct 8, 2026

• SEL: OEM entries are decoded as system event records, and types C0h/E0h throw

  bug
MetricsHub/ipmi-java#125 · Filter by author bertysentry opened on Oct 8, 2026

• SerialOverLan.writeBytes loses data or throws for buffers longer than two SOL payloads

  bug
MetricsHub/ipmi-java#123 · Filter by author bertysentry opened on Oct 7, 2026

• Remove SLF4J: report problems through exceptions and return values, not logs

  enhancement

• SpotBugs: fix the 227 findings (null dereference, stale thread writes, default charset, exposed internal arrays, constructors that throw)

• Add "Get Device ID" (BMC manufacturer, product, firmware version) to the client API

  enhancement
MetricsHub/ipmi-java#111 · Filter by author bertysentry opened on Oct 7, 2026

• "Reading unavailable" / "scanning disabled" bits are ignored - unavailable sensors are reported as 0.0

  bug
MetricsHub/ipmi-java#110 · Filter by author bertysentry opened on Oct 7, 2026

• Session-setup failures leave the state machine stuck and mask the real cause ("Illegal connection state: Rakp1Waiting")

  bug
MetricsHub/ipmi-java#109 · Filter by author bertysentry opened on Oct 7, 2026

• Test coverage: no tests for connection/queue/transport/state machine; decoder tests should use records captured from real BMCs

  enhancement

• Decode SPD records from DIMM FRUs (SpdInfo is a stub)

• Compact sensor record sharing (share count / entity instance sharing / ID instance modifier) is parsed but never expanded

  enhancement
MetricsHub/ipmi-java#100 · Filter by author bertysentry opened on Oct 7, 2026
