Pre-push hook runs the full 4.5-minute suite; scope or move it to CI #588
Description
Problem
.husky/pre-push runs npm test -- --passWithNoTests --runInBand --forceExit. On the current suite this takes ~275s serially and hard-blocks every push when any pre-existing failure exists — including docs-only commits that cannot affect tests.
Proposal (pick one)
- Run only tests affected by changed files (jest
--changedSince=origin/main) on pre-push and keep the full suite in CI. - Drop the pre-push test run and rely on required CI checks + branch protection.
- Run a fast smoke subset on pre-push (typecheck + unit tests for changed paths).
Acceptance criteria
- A docs-only commit can be pushed without waiting for the full suite
- Full suite still gates merges via CI
