Knowledge base document uploads currently use multipart uploads through the backend, which puts unnecessary load on it. Switching to presigned-URL uploads would alleviate this issue and improve performance.
Describe the solution you'd like
- Extend presigned-URL upload support to the knowledge base documents endpoint.
- Implement necessary changes to the documents endpoint to facilitate this transition.
Original issue
Context
KB document uploads currently go multipart through the backend. Moving them to presigned-URL uploads (browser→S3) would free backend load.
Scope
- Extend presigned-URL upload support to the knowledge base documents endpoint (currently multipart through backend).
- The documents endpoint will need changes to support this.
