feat(markers): send the episode's own provider IDs and title to marker providers - #45
Conversation
…r providers FetchMarkersRequest and SubmitMarkerRequest gain episode_external_ids and episode_title. A marker provider such as TheIntroDB v4 reads season and episode numbers in the numbering of the ID it receives, so it needs to know which providers matched the host's episode at those numbers. Older hosts leave the fields empty and older plugins ignore them. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

FetchMarkersRequest and SubmitMarkerRequest gain episode_numbering: the
external ID key ("tvdb" or "tmdb") of the provider whose numbering the
episode follows. Hosts match each metadata provider's episodes by number
alone, so an episode row usually carries both TMDB and TVDB IDs and a
plugin cannot tell from the IDs which numbering applies. The field is an
open vocabulary; an unknown value reads as empty.

Populate and consume episode_numbering in the related changes.
The related server sets episode IDs and titles but leaves EpisodeNumbering empty in both marker requests. The related TheIntroDB plugin selects a provider without reading this field. If an episode has both TVDB and TMDB IDs but follows TVDB numbering, the plugin can still address the wrong episode. Update the host and plugin together so the numbering source determines which provider ID the plugin uses. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Marker provider plugins learn which episode to look up only from the series IDs and the host's season and episode numbers. TheIntroDB's API v4 reads those numbers in the numbering of the ID a request names: TVDB's order for a TVDB ID, TMDB's numbering for a TMDB ID. A plugin cannot tell which provider's numbering an episode follows, so where TMDB and TVDB number a series differently, lookups and contributions can address the wrong episode.
Silo cannot answer that from the episode's IDs alone. Episode rows merge metadata providers' episodes by number, so a row in a default library carries both a TMDB and a TVDB episode ID while following the numbering of whichever provider leads the library's episode chain (TVDB by default).
Approach
FetchMarkersRequestandSubmitMarkerRequestgain three fields:episode_external_ids(7 and 10): the IDs of the provider episode records the host matched at those numbers.episode_title(8 and 11): in the library's metadata language.episode_numbering(9 and 12): the external ID key, tvdbortmdb, of the provider whose numbering the episode follows. It is empty when the host cannot tell.docs/compatibility.mdlistsepisode_numberingas an open vocabulary: a plugin treats a value it does not recognize like an empty one.The change is additive. Hosts that predate it leave the fields empty, and older plugins ignore them. Silo-Server/silo-server#2651 fills the fields and Silo-Server/silo-plugin-markers-theintrodb#11 uses them. Both pin this branch by pseudo-version until it is tagged; this needs a minor release (v0.28.0) after merge.
Validation
go test ./...,go vet ./..., and the four example builds pass.buf generatechanges onlymarker_provider.pb.go.gofmt -l .listspkg/pluginsdk/runtime/scan_source_test.go, which predates this change.Evidence
Evidence: none, no user-visible change
Risks
Additive protobuf change. The server and plugin pull requests must move from the pseudo-version to the release tag before they merge.
