I make immersive systems that read the person wearing them.
Right now that means finishing an M.Sc. in Cinema and Media Engineering at Politecnico di Torino (July 2026), and a thesis called DreamWalking: a closed loop that takes EEG off someone's scalp, decodes what they're imagining, and renders it as a volumetric object in Unreal Engine 5. The interesting part isn't the decode. It's that the render shows you how unsure it is, instead of quietly inventing a crisp wrong answer.
I also direct short films. Less of a detour than it sounds: both jobs are about what a person actually perceives inside a scene.
Outside research I ship things that have to survive contact with users. A shared-scooter app, down to the BLE unlock. The platform a national association runs on, every day.
What I'm chasing lately: XR as an instrument for studying how people move through traffic, physiological sensing inside immersive environments, and models that transfer across bodies instead of memorizing one participant.
mensa_online. The backend running a national association: members, events, payments, document processing with AI summaries. Go and Docker. Every commit in it is mine, for better or worse.
FuVR. PCVR streaming from Apple Silicon to a Quest. No SteamVR, no Quest Link, no blessing from either company. Experimental, and not all of it works yet.
mensa_italia_app. The official Mensa Italia app: event booking, member networking, multilingual. Flutter, iOS and Android, in the hands of actual members.
polito-hpc-swiftbar. A live Slurm dashboard for the university HPC cluster, sitting in the macOS menu bar. Built it because I was tired of SSHing in to check a queue.
HKN portrait pipeline. Batch processor for the IEEE-HKN chapter's associate portraits: face-aware cropping, background removal, compositing. Python, with CI, because volunteers shouldn't have to debug my code.
Most of the research code stays private until it's clean enough to be worth someone else's time.
