Summary

Fix main build, CI fmt/clippy & RustSec, and dashboard a11y check

What was solved

#843 — main does not compile: auth_layer is undefined at src/api/mod.rs:355

Fix the main build break in src/api/mod.rs by replacing the dangling auth_layer() call on the redelivery sub-router with the same inline per-MethodRouter auth layer used by sibling routes (middleware::from_fn_with_state(state.clone(), auth_middleware)), preserving the existing ordering so auth remains the outermost route_layer and runs before the merchant redelivery limiter.

Addressed:

  • Changed: README.md
  • Replace the undefined auth_layer() call at the redelivery route in api_v1() with middleware::from_fn_with_state(state.clone(), auth_middleware) so the crate compiles.
  • Keep auth as the outermost route_layer on the redelivery route so auth runs before the merchant redelivery limiter (preserve test_redeliver_runs_auth_before_merchant_limiter semantics).
  • Match the existing inline authed/auth-layer pattern used by sibling routes; do not introduce a new helper unless needed.

#844 — CI fmt / clippy job fails before it runs: dtolnay/rust-toolchain@master is used without a toolchain input

Fix the fmt / clippy CI job in .github/workflows/ci.yml by passing an explicit toolchain input (matching rust-toolchain.toml's MSRV) and requesting rustfmt, clippy components to dtolnay/rust-toolchain@master, so the job reaches and runs cargo fmt --check and cargo clippy. Optionally hoist the MSRV into a workflow-level env: MSRV to prevent drift, but keep the change scoped to the CI workflow.

Addressed:

  • Changed: .github/workflows/ci.yml
  • Add with: toolchain: "1.94" (matching rust-toolchain.toml) to the dtolnay/rust-toolchain@master step in the fmt-clippy job of .github/workflows/ci.yml.
  • Add components: rustfmt, clippy to that step so cargo fmt and cargo clippy are available.
  • Ensure the fmt / clippy job can reach and run cargo fmt --check and cargo clippy --locked --all-targets -- -D warnings.

#845 — cargo audit fails in CI and in the weekly supply-chain workflow: cargo-audit 0.22.2 needs rustc 1.96, the repo pins 1.94

Fix the broken RustSec scanning by switching both the cargo audit (RustSec) job in ci.yml and the Supply-chain security workflow to install a prebuilt cargo-audit binary via taiki-e/install-action@v2 (option 2), then run cargo audit directly. This removes the MSRV conflict with the pinned 1.94 toolchain, avoids the ~60s compile, and keeps the ignore list consistent with deny.toml.

Addressed:

  • Changed: .github/workflows/ci.yml, .github/workflows/supply-chain.yml
  • Make cargo audit run to completion in the cargo audit (RustSec) job in .github/workflows/ci.yml
  • Make cargo audit run to completion in .github/workflows/supply-chain.yml
  • Use a prebuilt cargo-audit binary (e.g. taiki-e/install-action@v2 with tool: cargo-audit) instead of compiling with the pinned 1.94 toolchain

#846 — Dashboard a11y check never runs: scripts/check-dashboard-a11y.mjs declares declaredLabels twice (SyntaxError)

Fix the duplicated declaredLabels declaration in scripts/check-dashboard-a11y.mjs that causes a SyntaxError aborting the whole a11y check, and extend the CI JavaScript syntax-check step to cover scripts/*.mjs in addition to static/.

Addressed:

  • Changed: scripts/check-dashboard-a11y.mjs, .github/workflows/dashboard.yml
  • Remove the duplicate const declaredLabels declaration (and its duplicated loop) in scripts/check-dashboard-a11y.mjs so the module parses; merge label lists if they differ.
  • Ensure node scripts/check-dashboard-a11y.mjs can exit 0 against current static/dashboard.html (fix any assertions the script reports if they are within the script's own logic).
  • Update the CI 'JavaScript syntax check' step to also run node --check over scripts/*.mjs, not just static/.

Changes

  • README.md (modify)
  • scripts/check-dashboard-a11y.mjs (modify)
  • .github/workflows/ci.yml (modify)
  • .github/workflows/dashboard.yml (modify)
  • .github/workflows/supply-chain.yml (modify)
