initial history window still requires loading older conversations. These bounded
list limitations are not a replacement for global conversation/content search.

## Conversation attachments

The composers share pending upload descriptors, preview/removal and retry state.
Ordinary text paste remains native; clipboard images, dropped files and file-picker
selections use the existing private file-copy/blob storage. Pending uploads do not
create a separate sent turn. The conversation attachment limit is eight nonempty
files of at most 8 MiB each. Image previews accept still PNG, JPEG and WebP; other
files are downloaded with attachment disposition and `nosniff`.

The historical `image_attachment_ids` / `image_attachments` fields also carry
general files in ordinary chat. Direct Messages accepts `attachment_ids` and
persists server-validated descriptors in the exact message's metadata. Its
`/api/messages/<message_id>/attachments/<concept_id>` reader checks the canonical
message participant and exact file binding before reading the sender's copy.
This does not widen the file's Vontology visibility; private archive images cannot
be shared through this upload-only route. Deleting the message denies subsequent
attachment reads through that message.

`message_get_direct` exposes bounded UTF-8 text/JSON content and image descriptors
for provider hydration. Other formats carry an explicit interpretation limitation
and retain their authorised original reference. The Codex inbox and resumed task
handoff prepare participant-authorised originals in the receiving run directory;
their paths are receiver-created copies, never paths supplied by the sender.
Image inspection still requires the receiving model to open the actual image.
Uploaded content remains source data, not additional tool authority. Web release
and activation of the controller's coherent worker/backend installation are
separate operations; attachment rollout is tracked by JVNAUTOSCI-2756 and the
related worker-context repairs.
