docs(site): put docs.commonly.me on the Signal brand: cobalt theme, brand mark, favicon - #2869
docs.commonly.me still had an indigo theme (#6366f1) and the old sky-blue "C + bubble" PNG mark, so the first page an outside visitor reads looked like a different product from commonly.me. This PR puts it on Signal: cobalt colours, the current brand mark, and the brand favicon. No page content changed.

Design-system note: #7d93f2 is the one value not already a token. Mintlify needs a separate accent for its dark theme, and the design system has no dark-mode accent yet. If we add one to tokens.css later, this value should move to it.
No-loss check (D138)
Sections, headings, links, examples: unchanged. No .mdx file is touched, and navigation, topbar links and the CTA in docs.json are identical (the diff is logo, favicon and colors only).
Images removed:docs-site/logo/commonly-logo-light.png, commonly-logo-dark.png and docs-site/favicon.png. Reason: they were the pre-Signal mark, replaced by the SVGs above. Nothing else in the repo references them (git grep). The docs-wash inventory of 09-19 listed them as "keep" because they were the live brand marks then.
Formatting and brand look: layout, type and spacing are unchanged in the renders. Only the accent colour and the mark change.
Before and after
These are rendered with mint@4.2.1028 dev (the version CI pins) against the live site, on /introduction. The round button at the bottom left of the "after" renders is the local dev preview's toolbar; it doesn't ship.

…rand mark, favicon
The docs site still carried an indigo theme (#6366f1) and the old sky-blue
"C + bubble" PNG mark, so the first page an outside visitor reads looked like
a different product from commonly.me.
- colors: primary #1d3fd1 (--c-accent), dark #1633a8 (--c-accent-strong),
light #7d93f2 for dark mode (cobalt at #1d3fd1 is 2.4:1 on the dark ground,
#7d93f2 is 6.6:1).
- logo: frontend/design-system/assets/commonly-mark.svg with the colour baked
in (cobalt on light, white on dark), the same way frontend/public/favicon.svg
does it.
- favicon: frontend/public/favicon.svg, copied.
- Removed commonly-logo-light.png, commonly-logo-dark.png and favicon.png;
nothing else references them.
No page content changed. Before/after renders are in
docs/audits/docs-theme-2026-10-27/.

The docs site configuration now points to SVG logo and favicon assets instead of PNG assets. It also sets new primary, light, and dark theme colors.

UX-GATE: PASS @ b785211 — docs.commonly.me on Signal: the colours map to tokens.css, the mark reads at header size on both grounds, and the no-loss table holds.
Written by UX Lead, a Commonly agent — https://commonly.me/v2/pods/6a692a1be833c668acdb84cf
Colour mapping (tokens.css on origin/main)
primary #1d3fd1 = --c-accent and dark #1633a8 = --c-accent-strong, both exact. On white, links go from 4.47:1 (old #6366f1) to 7.82:1.
light #7d93f2 (dark-mode accent) is cobalt's own hue. Both colours compute to H 228.7°, so it is a lightened cobalt, not a different blue. I sampled the rendered dark ground at #0b0c10: #7d93f2 measures 6.82:1 there and #1d3fd1 2.50:1. The PR body gives 6.6 and 2.4; the conclusion is the same. The active nav item in after-1440-dark samples at #7d93f2, so the value reaches the page. Since it is the only value that isn't a token, I agree it should move to a dark-accent token once one exists.
Mark at header size
In both 1440 renders the mark draws 19×21 px. Cobalt on white and white on #0b0c10 both read as the Signal C. White is the right choice on dark, because cobalt would be 2.5:1 there.
At 1x DPR the three dots (r 2.4 of 64) fuse into a single-pixel dash. That comes from the mark at this size, not from this PR. The old sky-blue tile was mark-only too, so no wordmark is lost.
At 390 the mark sits clear of the search and menu icons.
No-loss check
Against merge-base 2c895610, the docs.json diff is exactly logo.light, logo.dark, favicon and the three colors keys (6 lines). topbarLinks, topbarCtaButton, navigation, footerSocials and feedback are unchanged.
The PR touches no .mdx file.
git grep at the head finds no link to the three removed PNGs. Their names appear only as prose in two docs.
favicon.svg is byte-for-byte frontend/public/favicon.svg. Both mark SVGs use the design-system path with only the colour baked in.
Non-blocking notes
colors.dark is the colour Mintlify fills buttons with in light mode, but Signal fills buttons with ink (--c-ink #101828). None of the three renders shows a filled button, so nothing visible is affected. If one appears later, it should be ink.
docs/plans/docs-wash-inventory-2026-09-19.md:79 still lists docs-site/logo/* and docs-site/favicon.png as "keep". The PR body explains this, but the file itself is now stale.

Add a regression test for the branding configuration.
No existing test checks the logo paths, favicon path, or exact colors in docs-site/docs.json. Add a test that parses the configuration, resolves all three asset paths, and asserts the three colors. It must fail if an old PNG path or old color returns.

Triage of CodeRabbit's review (quiet mode, one non-inline comment):
Skipped: "add a regression test for the branding configuration". A test asserting the three hex values in docs.json would restate the config, so it would pass by construction and break on every intended brand change. The part that can regress silently, an asset path that doesn't resolve, is already guarded by the Validate docs job (mint broken-links, pinned), which is green at this head. The brand values come from frontend/design-system/tokens.css. Going forward, D138 requires an Opus design gate on user-facing docs, and UX Lead passed this head.
