feat(connectors): GitLab.com hosted MCP entry (split from #2429) - #2937
backend/integrations/hostedMcp/entries.ts: one import and one catalogue line
backend/__tests__/unit/services/hostedMcpEntry.test.js: GitLab catalogue id and pin test
frontend/src/v2/icons/platforms/index.tsx and platformGlyphCatalogue.test.tsx: GitLab glyph and its test
Not in this PR: Supabase (its own PR), the Notion work already on main, and the i18n strings (the GitLab row has no vendor-specific copy, so no locale keys were needed).
Verification at head:
hostedMcpEntry.test.js: 51 passed
platformGlyphCatalogue.test.tsx: 6 passed
eslint on changed files: 0 errors
Still needed before merge: Vera gate, connector-ops lane review at head, and the entry stays hidden in values-dev with lily-shen in hiddenEntryUserAllowlist (separate values PR, CTO presses). Prod walk (connect, consent, tools listed) after deploy.
…2429)
Carries only the GitLab entry from #2429: the pinned entry file, its
measured tools-list fixture, the catalogue line, the GitLab glyph, and
the unit tests that pin it. Notion is already on main; Supabase stays
in its own PR. The entry stays hidden in values-dev until the
allowlist PR lands.

Adds a GitLab.com hosted MCP catalogue entry with OAuth metadata and 21 pinned tools, registers it, and adds a GitLab platform glyph. Tests compare the catalogue against a captured 36-tool list and verify glyph rendering.
Changes: GitLab hosted MCP catalogue
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Entry metadata and catalogue registration backend/integrations/hostedMcp/gitlab.ts, backend/integrations/hostedMcp/entries.ts
Adds GitLab resource, issuer, scope, and revocation metadata, then registers the entry in the hosted MCP catalogue.
Team-Commonly/commonly#2649: Adds per-user exceptions for hidden hosted MCP entries, a mechanism referenced in connection with the GitLab entry’s visibility.
Team-Commonly/commonly#2539: Sets the hidden-entry configuration for GitLab, which controls the visibility of the added catalogue entry.
Merge Risk: Low · up to 8b015
The GitLab tool description for get_user understates what the tool can do, because it can look up other users by username or ID. Fix the description before merging; the change is otherwise additive, and the entry is intended to stay hidden at first.

This is #2833 at an older state. #2833 is still open and MERGEABLE, it has my PASS at 1bf0daa, and the lane already queued it for the first batch after the launch-morning deploy. The two PRs touch the same six files. The fixture (c2aba48af), the glyph and the glyph test are byte-identical. gitlab.ts differs by one line, and that line is a defect #2833 already fixed.
Defects
Duplicate of #2833. Both PRs add backend/integrations/hostedMcp/gitlab.ts, so the second one to merge hits an add/add conflict. The lane needs to keep one. If it keeps this one, it needs 2 and 3.
get_user description is the pre-fix text. It says "Read the connected GitLab user." The schema it ships takes username, id or me, and GitLab's measured description says "Provide exactly one of username, id, or me." So the agent is told the tool reads only its own account, when it can look up any user. I held #2833 for this at ae1b679, and b96c68e fixed it there. It is the only line where the two gitlab.ts files differ.
The pinned name set isn't asserted. The test checks the count (21), the six writes, and that each pinned tool matches the capture. It doesn't check which 21 names are pinned. That was CodeRabbit item 5677531603 on #2833, fixed in 1bf0daa. Mutation: I swapped get_project for list_project_members, a measured read tool that isn't pinned, with its schema copied from the capture. At this head the suite stays 51/51. The same mutant on #2833 goes red (1 failed, the GitLab pin test). So a change to the pin can swap which upstream tools agents get, and CI stays green.
The smallest fix is to take gitlab.ts and the test's GitLab block from 1bf0daa. That makes this PR #2833 again.
What passes
entries.ts adds one import and one catalogue line, nothing else.
hostedMcpEntry.test.js is 51/51 at this head (Node 22).
CI so far: 17 pass, 3 pending, 3 skipping, 0 failed. CodeRabbit hasn't reviewed this head yet.

Align the get_user description with the schema it describes.
The description, Read the connected GitLab user., limits the tool to the connected account. The pinned inputSchema also accepts username and id, so the tool can read other GitLab users. The me property is one optional mode, not the only one. The description therefore understates the tool's scope.
Change the description to state the real scope. Keep the inputSchema as pinned: the pin test compares it with the measured capture.
Proposed fix
- description: 'Read the connected GitLab user.',+ description: 'Read a GitLab user by username or ID, or the connected user.',
The checklist in docs/development/review-checklist.md asks reviewers to confirm that promised scoping or behavior is enforced. Here the description states a narrower scope than the schema allows.

Update the description for the get_user tool to reflect that it can read a
