fix(settings): re-read agent keys while visible so Last used stays live (TASK-426) - #3080
TASK-426. Agent Settings: a key used from outside the page showed "Last used: Never" until reload.
Change
The key list is re-read every 15 s while the tab is visible, and on window focus. The poll stops on unmount and when the tab is hidden.
The header's Connected state is not changed here. It already refreshes after an on-page revoke (connectionRefreshNonce) and every 30 s via AgentControlLoader, so an outside revoke shows within 30 s.
Tests
the key list re-reads while visible, so an outside call updates Last used (fake timers). Fails without the fix, passes with it.
key polling stops on unmount.
V2AgentSettingsPage.test.tsx: 29/29 pass.
Not done in this PR
Real-browser check at 1440 and 390 (dev:live, TASK-686, is not merged; the Playwright MCP did not connect from this seat). Screenshots will follow once a runnable build exists.
A per-tab revoke that another tab makes is still up to 30 s stale in the header. Making it instant would need a cross-tab signal; not in scope for this row.
…ve (TASK-426)
The key list on Agent Settings loaded on mount and after the page's own
replace or revoke. A key used from outside the page kept "Last used: Never"
until reload. Poll the list every 15 s while the tab is visible, and re-read
on focus. The poll stops on unmount and when the tab is hidden.
The header's Connected state already refreshes after an on-page revoke and
every 30 s through AgentControlLoader, so it is unchanged here.

The agent settings page now refreshes credential keys every 15 seconds and on window focus or document visibility changes. Tests cover updated key data, externally revoked connection state, hidden-document behavior, and polling cleanup after unmount.

Summary
Credential refresh and lifecycle tests frontend/src/v2/agents/V2AgentSettingsPage.tsx, frontend/src/v2/__tests__/V2AgentSettingsPage.test.tsx
The page refreshes credentials on a timer and browser events when access and a pod are available. It skips overlapping requests and hidden-document refreshes, retains the current list on failure, and cleans up on unmount. Tests cover updated last-use data, polling cleanup, connection revocation, and hidden-document behavior.

After an initial loading failure, the key list may require a page reload. A delayed response can also briefly show a revoked key as active. These bounded limitations warrant owner awareness before merging.

Let a successful refresh restore the key view.

Let a successful refresh restore the key view.
If the initial credential request fails and a later poll succeeds, refreshKeys updates keys but leaves keysReadyFor unset. The page continues to show the initial error instead of the key controls. An initial 403 similarly leaves keysForbidden set after a successful poll. Update the success path to restore the ready state and clear the prior failure state for the current identity. Update the successful response path in refreshKeys so an active poll marks the
current identity ready and clears its prior error and forbidden state, allowing
the key controls to appear after a successful retry.

Discard polling responses superseded by a key change.
If a poll reads an active key before revocation, its response can arrive after the revocation handler fetches the revoked key. setKeys(rows) then shows the key as active again until another refresh succeeds. Invalidate older polling responses when replacement or revocation starts, or sequence all credential-list writes. As per coding guidelines, check “Async races: concurrent calls, double-firing, out-of-order completion.” (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Update the polling flow around fetchKeys and setKeys so responses started before

invalidate those in-flight responses or sequence credential-list writes, while

The current tests cover only visible 15-second polling and unmount cleanup. Add a focus test that refreshes without advancing timers. Add a hidden-to-visible test that verifies hidden requests are skipped and returning to visible triggers a refresh.

Adds the two guards TASK-426 asks for that #3080 lacked: a revoke seen
from outside moves the Control header off Connected without a remount,
and key polling pauses while the tab is hidden and re-reads on focus.
The focus/hidden test fails on main, so it guards the #3080 fix.

Prevent an older poll from overwriting a revoke.
If a poll starts before a revoke but completes after the revoke’s fetchKeys() call, it can restore the old active-key list. The page then shows the revoked key as active until another successful refresh. Coordinate all key reads with a shared request sequence so older responses cannot replace newer state.

Coordinate key reads in the page’s fetchKeys flow with a shared request

state returned by the revoke’s fetchKeys call.
Add a test that dispatches visibilitychange when the tab becomes visible.
Add a test that dispatches visibilitychange when the tab becomes visible.
The page re-reads keys on visibilitychange (V2AgentSettingsPage.tsx:124). No test in V2AgentSettingsPage.test.tsx dispatches that event. The hidden-tab test restores visibility by dispatching focus instead. If the visibilitychange listener is removed, the suite still passes, so the regression is not caught.

Update the hidden-tab test in V2AgentSettingsPage.test.tsx to dispatch

Browser walk for TASK-426 at 1440 and 390 on a production build of this head, against a fixture API with a walk-only key (not prod).
Key used from outside the page: "Last used" moved from Never to the new time within one 15 s poll, at both widths.
Key revoked from outside: header moved from "Connected" to "Disconnected: key revoked" within one 30 s tick, with no reload. The key moved to the "1 revoked" history.
Nothing rendered broken at 390. Mobile snapshots show both states.
Caveat: the 1440 walk ran on snapshots. The 1440 screenshot step failed on a path rule, so there is no 1440 image.
Tests on this head: V2AgentSettingsPage and useAgentSettings suites, 31/31 pass. The focus/hidden test fails on main.
