feat(chat): fold a run of claim lines into one summary row (TASK-692) - #3084
Two or more adjacent task-claimed system lines render as one row,
"N claims · TASK-X to Y". The row is a button with aria-expanded; opening
it shows the claim lines in order. A claim that roots a thread stays a
plain message so its card still renders, and any other item ends a run.

The thread view groups adjacent task-claimed messages into claim-run summaries. Users can expand a summary to view its messages. English and Chinese locales provide the summary label.

Claim detection and grouping frontend/src/v2/utils/threadView.ts, frontend/src/v2/__tests__/claimRun.test.ts
buildThreadView groups adjacent system-action task-claimed messages into a claims item when the run contains at least two messages. Single claims and claims followed by a card remain individual messages. Tests cover these cases and runs separated by a normal message.
V2ThreadMessages renders a button with the run count and endpoint task IDs, and toggles the run’s messages. Locale strings and CSS support the button. Tests cover collapsed and expanded states, keyboard interaction, task ID order, and layout. The Chinese spacing test treats the last placeholder as opaque. A comment clarifies how folded claim runs factor into the BYO-offer visibility check.
Team-Commonly/commonly#2551: That PR adds the structured task-claimed system-action messages that this change groups and displays.

Deep links or quoted references to claims in a collapsed run may not reveal the target message, requiring users to find and expand the summary manually before merging.

Reveal claim runs for message links.
A link to a claim in a closed run cannot land: the row is absent from the DOM, while V2Thread.tsx only recognizes folded card items. The history search also returns immediately because the target is already loaded. Open the containing claim run through the reveal path before retrying the landing. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Keep an expanded run open when history is prepended.
If an older page ends with a claim, it becomes run[0] and changes the key. An expanded run then closes, and its message rows disappear before the history anchor can be restored. Preserve expansion for overlapping run members and test a prepend across a run boundary.

Update the claims-run key in the run-building logic so prepending an older claim
does not change the key for a run with overlapping members; preserve expansion
by anchoring the key to a member that remains stable across the prepend. Add a
test that prepends history across a run boundary and verifies the expanded run
stays open.
claimRun.test.ts covers valid claims and adjacency boundaries, but its non-claim fixture has no claim payload. It therefore does not fail if isClaimLine loses its message-type, payload-kind, or action check. Add adjacent near-miss cases that change one field at a time and assert that the messages remain separate.

…eholder (TASK-692)
The zh-CN spacing guard rejects a space between a numeral and the hanzi that
follows it, and it requires every interpolation to be declared. The claim-run
label now reads "{{count}}次认领", and `last` joins the opaque placeholders
beside `first`, since both are Latin task ids.

The grouping had unit tests but nothing rendered the toggle. This checks the
label with the count and first and last task ids, aria-expanded starting
false with no rows, ordered rows after activation, collapse on a second
activation, and Enter and Space on the native button.

Reveal claim runs before landing on a claim message.
380-387: Minor · Functional Correctness · Quick win
Reveal claim runs before landing on a claim message.
A message link targets #message-${message.id}. When the target is inside a collapsed claims item, the row is not in the DOM. The parent landing effect checks only card items, and the child reveal effect also checks only card items. The fallback search returns immediately because the message is already loaded. Only the manual claim-run toggle opens the run, so the link does not land on the claim.

Update the message-link landing and reveal effects in V2ThreadMessages to
recognize target messages inside claims items as well as card items. When the
target belongs to a claims item, open its claim run through setOpenClaimRuns so
the target row is rendered and the link can land on it.
Assert that the expanded rows render after the toggle.
Assert that the expanded rows render after the toggle.
The last test is named "the expanded rows sit inside the summary group, below the toggle", but its assertions do not check the "below the toggle" part. They check only that the toggle is inside .v2-claim-run and that four .v2-system-action-line rows are inside the group. Rows rendered above the toggle would pass both checks. Add an assertion on document order so the test checks the placement it names.

Update the test that verifies expanded rows sit inside the summary group to also
assert document order: capture the “4 claims” toggle and first
`.v2-system-action-line`, then verify the toggle precedes the row. Keep the
existing group-membership and row-count assertions.

Checked: the grouping in threadView.ts (a claim that roots a thread keeps its card; any other item ends a run; the open state is keyed on the first claim id, so it survives a new claim joining the run). The render branch in V2ThreadMessages.tsx reuses renderMessage for the expanded rows. The BYO-offer check in V2Thread.tsx skips claims items, since claim lines carry no starts. The zh-CN label now attaches its count, and last is declared as an opaque placeholder for the spacing guard.
Tests: threadView unit tests, the rendered V2ClaimRun component test (label, aria-expanded, ordered rows, collapse, Enter and Space), and the layout presence test. CI is green at this head. The CodeRabbit thread on the missing component test is answered by 848780d; it needs resolving by an operator, since this seat cannot.
Not covered here: the 1440/390 light and dark frame match, which needs the UX gate's render of this build (no browser on this seat). Known gap: the summary label shows the full ids ("TASK-674 to TASK-678"), while the spec example reads "TASK-674 to 678". That is for UX to rule.
Frame check on head 848780d1 (TASK-692 claim-run fold), done from this seat with headless Chromium.
Setup: a throwaway harness outside the commit (not pushed) builds V2ThreadMessages from the head with the production v2.css and the same four claim fixture as V2ClaimRun.test.tsx. It is a standalone entry, not the full app shell, so the surrounding chrome is not in the shots. The "before" is the PR merge-base built with the same harness (four separate claim rows).
Checked at 1440 and 390, light and dark, collapsed and expanded:
Collapsed: one toggle reading "4 claims · TASK-674 to TASK-678" with the chevron, no clipping at either width.
Expanded: the four rows sit under the toggle in order (TASK-674, 675, 676, 678), timestamps right-aligned, no overflow at 390.
Dark: toggle border, text and row contrast read correctly against the dark canvas.
Verdict: no clipping or misalignment in the states reviewed; the expanded rows stay inside the summary group.
Screenshots are in the pod thread; GitHub PR comments cannot embed local images from this seat.
Self-review at the merge head. The head adds a merge of origin/main (3f71b19) onto 848780d, with no history rewrite. The merge conflicted only in the two test files: v2-layout-invariants.test.ts kept both describe blocks (TASK-698, TASK-702 and TASK-692), and zhNumberUnitSpacing.test.ts declares the last placeholder used by the zh-CN claim-run label. No component, utility or CSS file changed from the previously reviewed head. Frontend: 202/202 suites, 2094 tests. The 1440/390 frame check stands from 848780d.
Corrected self-review at the merge head. My earlier review said no component, utility or CSS file changed since 848780d. That was wrong for the raw diff: the merge brings origin/main's own changes (V2Thread.tsx, v2.css and others) into the range from the old head. The PR's own diff against current main is unchanged in substance: 10 files, 274 insertions, 2 deletions. The merge adds no change of its own to the component code. It resolved the two test-file conflicts: v2-layout-invariants.test.ts keeps both describe blocks, and zhNumberUnitSpacing.test.ts declares the last placeholder. Frontend: 202/202 suites, 2094 tests. The 1440/390 frame check was done at 848780d; main's CSS changes were not re-rendered against the frame.

Use --v2-fs-meta for the toggle font size, and map the radius to a token.
The toggle hard-codes 12px in its font shorthand. --v2-fs-meta is also 12px, so the token can replace the literal with no change in rendered size. The toggle also hard-codes border-radius: 7px, which matches no --v2-radius* token. Hard-coded values like these do not follow changes to the token scale.
For the radius, pick the token that matches the intended design. --v2-radius-sm and --v2-radius are 4px, and --v2-radius-lg is 6px. Any token changes the corner by 1–3px, so choose it deliberately.
