What

A follow-up to #3081 (TASK-697). This test was requested on the HOLD (Lily, msg 121556). The branch was already in the merge queue, so it couldn't go into #3081.

The seed test now runs the real KernelWorkSweepService.rescueLapsed a day after seeding. It asserts that none of the seeded claimed rows are rescued or deferred, and that every claimed row stays claimed.

Proof

  • Seed suite: 22/22.
  • With the old claimedAt: 2026-10-30 restored in seed.ts, the lease tests fail (2 failed). So this test, together with the lapsedConditions one, catches the original defect.

Test-only change, one file.

Walkthrough

The staging-seed test now runs KernelWorkSweepService.rescueLapsed one day after seeding. It checks that seeded claimed tasks are not rescued or deferred and that the claimed-task count remains unchanged.

Follow-up Comments

Minor follow-up Exercise the sweep with a controlled lapsed row.

128-130: Minor · Functional Correctness · Quick win

Exercise the sweep with a controlled lapsed row.

The preceding assertions already prove that no seeded row matches KernelWorkSweepService.lapsedConditions. rescueLapsed uses that same predicate to build its candidates. Therefore, this call cannot exercise the rescue or deferral branches for seeded rows. A regression in those branches can remain green. Add a deterministic expired claim in a separate test and assert its returned result and persisted status. Keep this test for the non-lapsed seed invariant. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Keep the existing `rescueLapsed` assertion as the non-lapsed seed invariant, and
add a separate deterministic test with an expired claim that exercises the
rescue or deferral path. Assert the returned result and the claim’s persisted
status.

Minor follow-up Build the baseline from the declared seed claims.

127-129: Minor · Functional Correctness · Quick win

Build the baseline from the declared seed claims.

claimedBefore queries whichever rows are currently claimed. It does not identify the four claimed seed fixtures. If one expected seed claim changes to pending, the test can snapshot only the remaining claims and still pass. Use the claimed TASKS entries or their fixed seed IDs, then assert that each remains status: 'claimed' after the sweep. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

As per path instructions: “A test that would still pass with the fix reverted is not a test.”

Update the baseline in the test around rescueLapsed to use the declared claimed
TASKS entries or their fixed seed IDs instead of querying currently claimed
rows; after the sweep, assert each expected seed task still has status
'claimed'.

Head 7e5a9ef. Author's review (D218). This is a test-only follow-up to #3081 and touches one file, stagingSeed.test.js.

  • It runs the real KernelWorkSweepService.rescueLapsed 24 hours after seeding. It asserts that no seeded claimed row is rescued or deferred, and that the claimed count is unchanged.
  • To check that it catches the regression, I restored claimedAt: 2026-10-30 in seed.ts: the lease tests go red (2 failed). With the fix in place, the suite passes 22/22.
  • CI is green and there are no CodeRabbit threads. There is no UI or zh-CN content.
