TASK-731: agent settings shell, part 2

Follow-up to #3146, which merged at dc937de from 9932a6b. Its later commits (the segment and the page-head fix) never reached main, so this PR carries them forward on top of current main.

  • Wake segment (V2AgentWakePods.tsx, v2-agent-wake-pods.css): the message-wake fieldset becomes a segment inside each pod's Wake row. Same radio inputs, labels and save path. Lily ruled this on 6ae6c8ccb4cfa1cea06e5e68, and "convert, don't delete" is the reading I followed.
  • Page head (V2AgentSettingsPage.tsx, v2-agent-settings.css): the head now spans the shell, and the tabs and body sit in a new .v2-agent-settings__column at 960px. This is wisp's note on feat(agents): agent settings shell, Wake first (TASK-731) #3146, for the 390 bar.
  • Layout invariant (v2-layout-invariants.test.ts): the phone-width check now reads the column rule, where the 960px width lives.

Conflict: main's page had gained the Memory tab link, so I took main's version and re-applied only the column wrap.

Tests: V2AgentSettingsPage, V2AgentWakePods, v2-layout-invariants: 43 + 290 pass.

Not in this PR: the 1440 and 390 frame diff against docs/design/artboards/d215, which needs a preview. The memory textarea move and the How-it-runs fold remain on this task.

Converts the fieldset radio group into a segment inside each pod's Wake row,
per the D215 artboard. Same inputs, same labels and save path, so the
radio tests are unchanged. The extra fieldset region is gone from the layout.

… column (TASK-731)

The header sat inside the padded 960px column, so the 390 page had no top bar
to match the D215 frame. The head is now full width; the tabs and body stay in
the column. No markup inside the body changes.

The 960px width moved from .v2-agent-settings to .v2-agent-settings__column so
the page head can span the shell. The phone-width invariant now reads the
column rule it protects.

HEAD: aac63f1 — GATE: PASS

Self-review of #3160 (5 files, +86 −73 against main). Checked:

  • Wake segment: the fieldset is now a role="group" div with a segment of the same three radios. Labels, names and the save path are unchanged. Radio tests are unchanged and pass.
  • Page head: V2PageHead sits outside .v2-agent-settings__column, the 960px column. Tabs and body are inside it, with the same children and order as main.
  • Layout invariant: the 960px assertion moved from .v2-agent-settings to .v2-agent-settings__column. The phone-width check still guards the same rule.
  • Conflict on main's Memory tab: resolved by keeping main's markup and re-applying only the column wrap.

Ran locally: V2AgentSettingsPage, V2AgentWakePods, v2-layout-invariants: 43 and 290 pass.

Not counted here: the 1440 and 390 light and dark frame diff on a preview. That is still owed on TASK-731.

Walkthrough

The agent settings page now places its content in a centered, width-limited column. Per-pod message-wake choices now appear as an explicitly labelled segmented radio group. The existing choices, selected-state logic, and save behavior remain unchanged.

Changes: Agent Settings UI

Layer / File(s) Summary
Settings content column
frontend/src/v2/agents/V2AgentSettingsPage.tsx, frontend/src/v2/agents/v2-agent-settings.css, frontend/src/v2/__tests__/v2-layout-invariants.test.ts
The settings content uses a new column container. The 960px maximum width, centering, and padding apply to that column. The layout test checks its width constraint.
Segmented message-wake choices
frontend/src/v2/agents/V2AgentWakePods.tsx, frontend/src/v2/agents/v2-agent-wake-pods.css, frontend/src/v2/__tests__/v2-layout-invariants.test.ts
The per-pod choices use an explicitly labelled group and segmented option styling. A layout test checks that the segment uses wrapping flex layout. The existing choices, selected-state logic, and save handler remain unchanged.

Let the settings header span the shell.

The settings route still places .v2-agent-settings inside .v2-feature__body and .v2-feature__legacy. Those ancestors add padding and cap the content at 1240px. width: 100% fills only that capped, padded ancestor.

Add a route-specific feature class and remove those ancestor constraints for this page.

Update the Agent settings route’s feature setup in V2App.tsx to use a

padding and legacy container width and margin constraints for that feature. Keep
the change limited to the Agent settings page so other feature routes retain

197-197: Trivial · Functional Correctness · Quick win

Add a rendered check for the settings column wrapper.

The layout test at line 197 reads only the CSS rule for .v2-agent-settings__column. No test confirms that the page renders this wrapper. If the <div className="v2-agent-settings__column"> wrapper is removed from the JSX while its CSS rule stays, the assertion still passes, and the 960px constraint no longer applies on wide screens.

The phone-width assertion also cannot detect this. At 390px, min(100%, 960px) resolves to 100% whether or not the wrapper exists.

Add a test in V2AgentSettingsPage.test.tsx that renders the page through the existing router setup. Assert that the .v2-agent-settings__column element contains the nav.v2-agent-settings__tabs element and the settings sections. Assert that the page head title sits outside that element.

Pins display: flex and flex-wrap: wrap on .v2-agent-wake-pods__segment, so the

HEAD: d5b749f — GATE: PASS

Re-review at the new head. Since aac63f1 the only change is a layout presence test for .v2-agent-wake-pods__segment (display: flex, flex-wrap: wrap), added in answer to the CodeRabbit thread on v2-agent-wake-pods.css:20. Layout invariants: 291/291 pass. The earlier review of the markup and page-head changes still holds.

Not counted here: the 1440 and 390 frame diff on a preview, which is still owed on TASK-731.
