fix(board): no status rail on blocked cards, plus a card-rail guard (TASK-746) - #3179
TASK-746 (D225): Sam read the red inset rail on blocked cards as AI slop.
Removes .v2-board__card--blocked { box-shadow: inset 3px 0 0 ... } and the three now-unused --v2-status-blocked-edge tokens. A blocked card looks like any other; blocked shows only through the column's red dot and the P0 badge, as on the artboard. No red outline existed on blocked cards (the picked-card outline is the accent).
Adds a guard to v2-layout-invariants: it fails on any card selector with an inset side shadow or a coloured border-left of 2px or more. Selectors with quote or thread are exempt. I checked it fails when a rail is re-added (inset shadow and border-left both caught, quote exempt).
The v2 stylesheet no longer defines the blocked-edge token or applies an inset stripe to blocked cards. The layout invariant test checks blocked-status styling and rejects specified inset shadows and wide colored left borders on card selectors.
The stylesheet removes the blocked-edge token from all three theme definitions and removes the blocked-card inset shadow. The test checks the blocked column-name color, verifies the token and selector are absent, and scans card selectors for inset side shadows and wide colored left borders.
Team-Commonly/commonly#3180: Documents the blocked-card rail audit and continues related rail-removal and invariant work.
Merge Risk: Low · up to ef907
The change is likely mergeable with follow-up, but the regression guard still misses valid rail patterns and responsive browser verification remains outstanding.

Sonnet review of removing the blocked-card inset rail and adding the card-rail guard: no defects. Remaining references to the edge token are only the two negative test assertions; no red outline is left on blocked cards (picked outline is the accent); the guard catches inset side shadows (also in shadow lists) and border-left >= 2px. Two hardening notes from the review were applied after it (strip comments before matching selectors; also cover border-inline-start), test-only. Board and layout suites 319 pass, and I confirmed the guard fails when a rail is re-added. Not done: no live render; this is a pure deletion.

Detect valid rail declaration orders.
The scan misses box-shadow: inset 3px 0 red and border-left: solid 3px red. Both are valid CSS and draw rails, but neither matches these expressions. (developer.mozilla.org) Handle valid value orders and add positive controls for both declarations.

Apply the exemption to each selector.
A rule such as .v2-board__card, .v2-quote { border-left: 3px solid red; } applies the rail to cards, but /quote/ skips the entire rule. (developer.mozilla.org) Check each selector separately and add a mixed-selector test.

Update the stylesheet scan’s selector check so it evaluates each selector in a
comma-separated selector list independently, exempting quote or thread selectors
without skipping card selectors in the same rule; add a mixed-selector test that

Complete the real-browser check.
The repository requires a real-browser check for v2 layout and CSS changes. Check both light and dark themes at 1440px and 390px. At 390px, the active column header is hidden, so verify the P0 badge as the remaining blocked-status cue.

Update the test named “blocked shows through the column dot and P0 badge, not a
card rail” to complete the real-browser check for the v2 layout and CSS changes.
Verify both light and dark themes at 1440px and 390px, and at 390px confirm the
P0 badge remains the blocked-status cue when the active column header is hidden.

Apply exemptions to individual selectors.
A rule such as .v2-board__card, .v2-thread { box-shadow: inset 3px 0 0 var(--v2-status-blocked); } is skipped entirely. The card receives a rail, but the test passes. Check each selector in the list separately and add this case as a positive control. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Update the selector filtering in the layout-invariant test so exemptions for
quote or thread selectors apply to those selectors individually, rather than
skipping an entire comma-separated rule that also targets a card. Add a positive
control confirming that a card selector in such a mixed rule is still checked
for the blocked-status rail.

box-shadow: inset 3px 0 var(--v2-status-blocked) draws a side rail, but the regex requires an explicit zero blur. A shadow with inset after the lengths also bypasses it. Cover these valid forms and add positive-control tests. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
