TASK-730 (D223): the d215 Settings frame (#s-settings) rebuilt on /v2/_primitives from the shared v2p- primitives alone: Account, Access and Look groups, same rows and order, fixture values ([email] placeholder). The disclosure row, list rows, segments and buttons are the ones already on main.

  • Test pins the group order and that the frame uses only v2p- classes.
  • Icons are text glyphs for now; the artboard sprite is not on main.
  • Owed: the staging frame diff at 1440 and 390, light and dark, which Lily runs.

Walkthrough

The primitives page now displays a fixture-based Settings frame with Account, Access, and Look groups. The frame includes responsive layout rules. Tests check its rendered groups, primitive classes, disclosure element, dimensions, and selected stylesheet rules.

Changes: Settings frame showcase

Layer / File(s) Summary
Build the Settings frame
frontend/src/v2/primitives/V2SettingsFrame.tsx, frontend/src/v2/primitives/primitives.css
The frame renders fixture values and controls across three groups. Its responsive styles hide value cells and use label-and-action columns on narrow viewports.
Add and verify the showcase
frontend/src/v2/primitives/V2PrimitivesPage.tsx, frontend/src/v2/__tests__/v2Primitives.test.tsx
The primitives page renders the frame under a new heading. Tests check group order, primitive-class and disclosure counts, frame dimensions, and stylesheet rules.

Merge Risk: Low · up to 571e6

The showcase has a small phone-layout parity gap and insufficient regression protection; both should be addressed before relying on the frame as the reference implementation.

Nitpick Make the primitive-class assertion reject unsupported classes.

76-77: Trivial · Maintainability & Code Quality · Quick win

Make the primitive-class assertion reject unsupported classes.

If a row gains an unsupported class, the count of v2p- classes remains above ten and this test still passes. Check the rendered classes against the shared primitive selectors and their required descendant classes, such as lb, vl, and ac. Keep a positive assertion that the frame contains primitive classes. As per path instructions, “A test that would still pass with the fix reverted is not a test.”

Update the class assertion in the test around frame so it validates rendered

Nitpick Assert the Settings row order.

74-75: Trivial · Maintainability & Code Quality · Quick win

Assert the Settings row order.

If the Email and Plan rows exchange positions, this test still passes. The frame’s stated behavior includes preserving row order. Assert the row labels within each group, including Devices, API token, and Connectors under Access. As per coding guidelines, “New code path ≠ test: flag it. Name the specific test that should exist.”

UX-GATE: HOLD @ 3633e34 — dark tokens reach the frame, but it renders 422px wide at 1440 (artboard 760) and its rows are 112px tall at 390 (artboard 48)

Built the exact head, served it on the fixture, measured /v2/_primitives at 1440 and 390, light and dark (data-v2-theme forced on :root), and measured the d215 #s-settings frames de-scaled (the artboard frames carry a 0.639 / 0.769 transform).

Dark: passes. The .v2-root dark block does reach the frame. Positive control: light and dark differ on every surface I read. Page #eef0f4 → #0b0e13, list #fff → #141922, label #101828 → #e8ebf1, mono #667085 → #8b94a5, seg track #f2f4f7 → #1e2531, icon buttons #475467 → #aeb6c4. The on segment is the surface colour with a ring, as in the artboard. No overflow (scrollWidth equals the viewport in all four runs), smallest text 11.5px.

Two things that fail the "same as the artboard" claim in V2SettingsFrame.tsx:

  1. Width. style={{ maxWidth: 760, margin: '0 auto' }} sits inside .v2p-body, which is display: grid. An auto margin on a grid item turns off stretch, so the frame shrinks to its content: 422px at 1440 (artboard list is 760 de-scaled) and 283px at 390 inside 390 (artboard 367). I set width: 100% live on the frame: 760 at 1440 and 362 at 390. Fix: width: '100%' next to the maxWidth.
  2. Rows at 390. Each row is 112–113px tall (Language/Theme 92); the artboard's are 48. primitives.css ≤480 sets .v2p-lrow { grid-template-columns: minmax(0, 1fr) } where d215 .app.m .lrow sets minmax(0, 1fr) auto, and the frame keeps a third .vl child that the artboard's phone frame does not have (it puts the value in the button, Pro ↗, and drops the email and handle). Fix: use the artboard's two-column rule, and let the frame hide .vl at ≤480 or move it under the label. Pick one and say which. Target: label left, action right, rows about 48. Devices is already 48.

I left the width fix applied live only; the build is unchanged. Re-gate is a 1440/390 dark pass once the head moves.

Non-blocking, nothing to do now:

  • The header Light/Dark v2p-seg is a static mock: it reads "Light" while the page is dark and clicks do nothing. Wire it to data-v2-theme or drop it; the page already follows the theme.
  • The ✎ and › glyphs stand in for the sprite icons; the avatar button and label icons are absent. That is the sprite not being on main, not this PR.
  • The thin line across the Devices list's top corners is d215's own details.disc { border-top }, carried faithfully.

UX-GATE: PASS @ 571e6f7 — both HOLD items fixed; Settings frame on /v2/_primitives matches d215 at 1440 and 390, light and dark.

Built the exact head (vite build, index-BxpQTe7A.js served and hash-checked) and measured with the fixture.

  • Width: frame 760 at 1440 (was 422), 362 at 390 (14→376). Page scrollWidth == clientWidth at both.
  • Rows at 390: 48 each (alex-kim 64, as drawn), label left at 26, action right at 364, value cell display:none. d215's phone frame has no value cell either, so this matches the artboard. The 1440 rows keep the 3-column grid (64/52, label 390, action right 1120).
  • Dark: tokens apply to the frame (ink rgb(232,235,241) vs light rgb(16,24,40), same rows, same geometry). Segments, ghost icon buttons, disclosure chevron and the Generate button all read at 390 dark.

Non-blocking, unchanged from the first read: the header Light/Dark seg is a static mock; glyph icons stand in for the d215 sprite. In the buttons demo below the frame at 390, the "Keys" label overlaps the button row. That demo is not in this PR's diff.

Keep the phone frame’s key values visible.

At 390px, this rule hides Pro, @alex-kim · member, and the device count. The d215 phone frame retains those values in its labels or actions. Add phone-specific equivalents before hiding the value cells. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Guard both phone-specific layout rules in v2-layout-invariants.test.ts.

The changed row and disclosure rules control the phone grid layout. The current regexes are not scoped to those rules. They can pass when either rule is removed or moved outside the phone media query.

Add scoped presence assertions for both rules in frontend/src/v2/__tests__/v2-layout-invariants.test.ts, as required for load-bearing v2 layout CSS.
