feat(chat): collapse stacked away notices into one line above the composer - #3268
When more than one agent in a pod has stopped answering, the composer stacked one "last checked" notice per agent. At 390 wide, three of them took about a third of the screen. This collapses them into one line above the composer that opens to the list.
What changes
One away agent: unchanged, the existing single notice.
Two or more: one <details> line in the same notice style, closed by default. "Flint and Swift aren't answering right now" for two, and "Flint, Swift and 1 other aren't answering right now" for three or more. Opening it shows the existing per-agent lines.
Artboard first: a new "Agents away" block at the end of the chat section in docs/design/artboards/d215/index.html (data-surface="chat-agents-away"), with 1440 collapsed, 390 collapsed and 390 open.
Checked
Real browser, on live pod data with three agents away: the line is 40px closed and 114px open, 4px above the composer, with no horizontal overflow at 1440 or 390, in light and dark. The chevron points down when closed and up when open. In zh at 390 it fits on one line (40px).
frame-diff against the new frames: all four pairs pass. 1440 layout 0.094 / structure 0.292; 390 layout 0.12 / structure 0.464, 0% repaint. Message bodies are masked, since they're data.
New tests (two away → closed line naming both with the rows inside; three → "and 1 other") were reverse-verified. Rendering a row per agent again, miscounting the remainder, and opening by default each fail.

When more than one agent in a pod is away, the composer used to carry one
notice per agent. On a phone, three of them covered about a third of the
screen. They now collapse into a single line above the composer, "Flint,
Swift and 1 other aren't answering right now", which opens to the
per-agent lines. A single away agent keeps the existing notice.
The artboard draws it first: a new "Agents away" block in the chat section
(1440 collapsed, 390 collapsed and open), in the existing notice style.

Walkthrough
Group pods now show multiple away agents in one expandable status row. The row summarizes agent liveness and reveals individual statuses when expanded. The change adds English and Simplified Chinese labels, tests, styling, and design examples.

V2Thread formats each away-agent status. One away agent appears in one status row; multiple away agents appear under an expandable summary with individual statuses. English and Simplified Chinese labels cover two agents and larger groups. Tests cover groups of two, three, and five, and live-region placement.
The disclosure has a styled summary row, focus ring, rotating chevron, and indented agent list. Layout tests check these styles. The artboard shows collapsed and expanded examples on desktop and mobile.

… summary
The away line took its count after the old three-row cap, so five away
agents read "Flint, Swift and 1 other" and two of them were listed
nowhere. The cap existed to stop notices stacking; the collapsed line does
that now, so the count and the list use every away agent, and a long list
scrolls inside the line.
A summary's children are presentational, so a live region inside it
likely announced nothing. The announcement moves to a visually hidden
status beside the line. The remainder count goes through Intl.NumberFormat
like the other formattedCount call sites.

Review: PR #3268, one line for agents away (head fe6fb70)
I read the diff against REVIEW.md and the review checklist, and ran V2PodAgentLiveness.test.tsx (8/8 pass). I didn't redo the writer's browser, frame-diff or tsc checks.
Blocking
1. When four or more agents are away, the summary undercounts them.frontend/src/v2/components/V2Thread.tsx:1582-1585 and :1594-1599. The count is taken after .slice(0, POD_LIVENESS_MAX_ROWS) (3), so it can never be more than 1. Example: with five agents away, the line reads "Flint, Swift and 1 other aren't answering right now", and opening it shows only three rows, so Echo and Kite appear nowhere. Take the count from the full filtered list. The cap belongs on the rows, never on the count.
Notes (not blocking)
The live region inside <summary> probably announces nothing. A summary's children are presentational, so the role="status" span is likely flattened into the summary's name. Put the live region on a visually hidden sibling outside the summary.
The chevron aria-hidden, the focus ring with its dark override, the [open] rotation and the CSS scoping are all fine. The single notice is unchanged.
formattedCount is passed a raw number. Other call sites use Intl.NumberFormat. This is for consistency only.
The item keys and the 1-versus-many switch are correct.
The tests check behaviour, but nothing covers four or more agents. That's exactly where finding 1 lives.

I read git diff fe6fb7074 HEAD (V2Thread.tsx, chat-states.css, V2PodAgentLiveness.test.tsx) and ran V2PodAgentLiveness.test.tsx: 10/10 pass.
Finding 1 (undercount) is closed. The slice and POD_LIVENESS_MAX_ROWS are gone, so the count and the list both come from every away agent. Five away agents now read "Flint, Swift and 3 others", which also exercises the awayMany_other plural form, and all five rows are listed. The new test checks the count, the five rows and that Kite is last, so putting the slice back fails it. The <ul> scrolls at 132px, and the line stays 40px tall while closed.
Note 2 (live region) is sound. The role="status" span now sits before the <details>, outside it, so it is a real live region. The summary's body is plain text again, so the disclosure keeps its accessible name. The hidden class carries the full screen-reader-only set. Exactly one live region exists at a time: the single notice renders only for one away agent, the others belong to 1:1 rooms, and nothing is announced twice. The test asserts the placement.
Note 4 is closed:formattedCount goes through Intl.NumberFormat with the resolved language.
Remaining notes, not blocking:
A line-by-line screen reader meets the sentence twice: once in the hidden region, once in the summary. That's the usual cost of a separate live region.
A scrolling list of six or more agents may not take keyboard focus in older Safari.
zh-CN: no strings changed in this delta, so the earlier table stands and all three are kept.

Count all away agents before applying the row limit.
podAgentLiveness is already limited to three rows. If four agents are away, the summary says “1 other” instead of “2 others,” and the fourth agent is absent from the disclosure. Use the full filtered list for the count and disclosure. Add a test with at least four away agents.

The rows are in the DOM while the line is closed, so asserting they exist
did not prove anyone can reveal them. The test now checks they are hidden
until the summary is clicked and visible after.
The disclosure's block display, flex summary, 40px line, chevron and
scrolling list are load-bearing and invisible to jsdom layout, so they get
presence assertions alongside the other chat-sheet invariants.

The delta (git diff 43a8ae3e1 HEAD) touches two test files only. The away tests in both pass, 5 of 5.
(1) Opening the line (V2PodAgentLiveness.test.tsx:128-131) is sound.
jest-dom's toBeVisible treats anything inside a <details> without open as hidden, apart from the summary. So the first check really proves the line starts closed.
fireEvent.click on the <summary> runs jsdom's built-in toggle, and the open assertion would fail if the click did nothing.
The final visibility check proves the rows appear once the line is open.
(2) The CSS pin (v2-layout-invariants.test.ts:5840-5853) is sound.
chatSheets[4] is chat/chat-states.css.
ruleBody returns '' for a selector it can't find, so every toContain can fail.
All five selectors match exactly one whole-line rule each.
Every asserted value is in its rule, and the line-start lookup takes the standalone chevron rule rather than the [open] one.
No product code changed. The earlier findings and the zh-CN table still hold.
