fix(connectors): say the vendor refused our app, not that you declined - #3333
When a vendor's OAuth callback returns error=access_denied because our app itself is unavailable to the account, the Connectors page now says the provider refused Commonly's app for that account. Before this it said "You didn't approve this connection", which is wrong: the member never saw a consent screen.
The trigger is Airtable. Its DCR client stays in development mode, and the callback carries error_description "… cannot be used outside of development". Four prod Airtable rows sit pending with this.
How
finishCallback checks access_denied plus a description matching /cannot be used outside of development/i, then redirects with vendor_app_unavailable and the entryId. It logs one warn with the entry id only.
Vendor text is matched and never echoed. The callback reads error/error_description before state validation, so that URL is forgeable.
The frontend maps the new code to its own copy. When the entry id resolves in the page's own hosted catalogue it names the provider from entry.label; otherwise it keeps the unnamed line.
en + zh-CN strings. zh-CN went through the glossary check in the one review round.
Reverse check: with backend/routes/hostedMcpConnect.ts reverted to main, the new backend test fails (✕ maps a vendor refusing the app itself to vendor_app_unavailable and names the entry, 1 failed / 52 passed). With the fix restored, 53/53 pass.
Review: one fresh subagent review (PASS), whose zh-CN and logging nits are applied in this head.
When a vendor answers the OAuth callback with access_denied because our
app is unavailable to the account (Airtable: "cannot be used outside of
development"), the member never saw a consent screen. The callback now
maps that case to vendor_app_unavailable and passes the entry id, and the
Connectors page names the provider from its own catalogue. Vendor text is
matched, never echoed: the callback URL is forgeable.

Walkthrough
The hosted MCP callback maps a specific vendor refusal to a dedicated error code and includes the catalogue entry ID in the redirect. The Connectors page uses that ID to show a provider-named notice when the catalogue has a matching label, with generic English and Simplified Chinese messages as fallback.

Summary
Classify the vendor refusal backend/routes/hostedMcpConnect.ts, backend/__tests__/unit/routes/hostedMcpConnect.callback.test.js
The callback recognizes an access_denied response whose description matches the development-only refusal. It redirects with vendor_app_unavailable and the entry ID. The test checks that vendor wording is omitted and the pending flow is not modified.
Resolve and render the provider notice frontend/src/v2/connectors/useChannelConnectors.ts, frontend/src/v2/components/hostedMcpErrorNotice.ts, frontend/src/i18n/locales/en.json, frontend/src/i18n/locales/zh-CN.json, frontend/src/v2/__tests__/ConnectorsPage.channels.test.tsx
The frontend waits for the hosted catalogue before resolving the entry ID to a provider label. It uses a provider-named translation when a label is available and a generic message otherwise. Tests cover known and unknown entries.
The reviewed callback and connector notice flow are ready to merge with normal checks.

Title check
The title clearly summarizes the main change: it updates connector messaging to state that the vendor refused the app instead of implying that the user declined consent.

The description directly explains the backend callback handling, frontend messaging, provider naming, translations, and tests for the vendor app unavailability flow.

Add a console.warn spy and assert the exact call, including the fixed message and JSON.stringify({ entryId: 'linear' }). Keep a sentinel in error_description. Restore the spy after the test. This catches both an omitted warning and accidental logging of vendor text.
This is a test-coverage/refactor concern. The current production implementation logs only the entry ID.

Update the relevant callback test to spy on console.warn and assert it receives
the fixed warning message with JSON.stringify({ entryId: 'linear' }); retain the
error_description sentinel and restore the spy after the test. Verify the
assertion checks the exact payload without expecting vendor-provided text, and
preserve the existing redirect and Integration.findOneAndUpdate assertions.

Re CodeRabbit's follow-up on the callback test (lines 1214-1215): applied in 175558f.
The test now spies on console.warn and asserts the exact call: the fixed message plus JSON.stringify({ entryId: 'linear' }). It puts a sentinel in error_description and asserts the sentinel appears in no warn call, and it restores the spy in a finally. Backend callback suite: 53/53.

Assert that the vendor sentinel is absent from the redirect.

Assert that the vendor sentinel is absent from the redirect.
The test checks VENDOR-SENTINEL only in warning calls. The redirect assertion at Line 1223 rejects two known words, not the sentinel itself. A callback that forwards another fragment of error_description could pass this test while exposing vendor-controlled text in the redirect. Assert that res.headers.location does not contain VENDOR-SENTINEL or the full description.
As per path instructions, untrusted vendor text must be checked in every effect that can emit it, including logs and redirects.

Update the callback test to assert that `res.headers.location` contains neither
`VENDOR-SENTINEL` nor the full `description`, in addition to the existing
warning-call assertion.

Re CodeRabbit's follow-up at line 1214 (the sentinel in the redirect): applied in a313a22. The test now also asserts res.headers.location does not contain VENDOR-SENTINEL, so the sentinel is checked in both the log and the redirect. Callback suite: 53/53.
One review round (D218): a fresh subagent reviewer passed the change at c705f72. It covered correctness, the lane (connector UI and strings), and the zh-CN glossary. Its zh-CN wording and warn-log nits are applied in that head.
The pushes since then (175558f, a313a22) are test-only and answer CodeRabbit. The callback test now asserts the exact warn line, which carries the entry id only, and checks that a vendor sentinel appears neither in any warn call nor in the redirect.
Reverse check (in the PR body): without the backend mapping, the new callback test fails (1 failed / 52 passed). With the mapping, backend is 53/53 and frontend 124/124.
Vendor error_description is matched against a fixed pattern and never echoed, because the callback reads it before state validation.
