fix(discord): only the installer toggles sync; reads need a connected row; /summary cooldown; mute reads its whole argument (F161) - #3470
Follow-ups from the reviews of #3465 (Discord outbound) and #3469 (Discord slash commands), plus the F157 reconnect button.
Who toggles sync:/discord-enable and /discord-disable now follow the bridge commands' rule. The caller's Discord id must equal the row's proven discordUserId. A legacy row with no recorded id refuses everyone; adding the bot again records it.
Duplicate commands: the per-guild register route registers nothing that is already global, and its empty bulk PUT also clears old duplicates.
Connected rows only:/tldr and /summary act only on a connected row. A settings write on a row that isn't connected writes nothing and says so. /status still reports.
/summary cost: one run per row per 60 s, claimed before the run. The count is per process.
Boot registration: the PUT now has a 10 s timeout and exits non-zero on failure. start.sh keeps booting either way.
/mute: it reads its whole argument on Telegram and Slack, so "2 hours" means 120 minutes. A unit that doesn't parse gets a usage reply on all three platforms. A bare number still means minutes.
Guild-only commands:contexts: [0] is set on the bridge commands, and a paused-row test is added.
Connectors: a Discord row in error gets an "Add the bot again" button (重新添加机器人).
What changes for existing installs
Older rows: on rows connected before the Discord id was recorded, nobody can toggle sync from Discord until the owner adds the bot again. Sync stays as it is.
Unparseable mute lengths:/mute soon, -5, 90s and 1.5h now get a usage reply instead of a guessed duration.
Rows that aren't connected:/tldr and /summary refuse on rows in error, disconnected or pending.
Tests
Red first: 12 failures across 4 suites, plus the whole relay-commands suite.
Green:
backend: 198 across 9 suites, 96/96 more Discord tests, and Slack 24/24;
frontend: 165/165.
Reverse checks:
toggle gate removed: 4 tests fail;
connected check removed: 7 fail;
Telegram mute back to the first word only: 1 fails.
… row; /summary cooldown; mute reads its whole argument (F161)
Follow-ups from the #3465 and #3469 reviews:
- /discord-enable and /discord-disable use the bridge commands' rule: the
caller's Discord id must equal the row's proven discordUserId. A legacy
row with no recorded id refuses everyone; adding the bot again records it.
- The per-guild register route registers nothing that is already global
(an empty bulk PUT also clears old duplicates).
- /tldr and /summary act only on a connected row; a settings write on a row
that isn't connected writes nothing and says so. /status still reports.
- /summary: one run per row per 60 s, claimed before the run.
- Boot-time command PUT: 10 s timeout, non-zero exit on failure; start.sh
keeps booting.
- /mute reads its whole argument on Telegram and Slack ("2 hours" = 120);
a unit that doesn't parse gets usage on all three platforms; a bare
number is still minutes.
- contexts: [0] on the bridge commands; a paused-row test.
- Connectors: a Discord row in error gets "Add the bot again" (en, zh-CN).

This PR updates mute-duration parsing across relay platforms, adds connection and cooldown checks to Discord relay commands, restricts Discord sync toggles by installer identity, changes guild command registration and deployment verification, and adds Discord reconnect handling.
The shared mute parser rejects unsupported duration strings and returns a usage outcome. Slack and Telegram pass full mute arguments, including multiword durations, and their responses describe supported formats.
Discord connection checks and summary cooldown backend/services/discordRelayCommandService.ts, backend/__tests__/unit/routes/discord.relayCommands.test.js, docs/discord/REGISTER_DISCORD_COMMANDS.md
Discord settings writes and summary commands require connected rows. Summary commands apply a per-row, per-process 60-second cooldown. Tests cover inactive rows, admin pauses, invalid mute input, and repeated calls.
Enable and disable commands pass the caller’s Discord ID to checks against the integration’s recorded installer. Discord error rows with a pod ID offer “Add the bot again” and start the install-link flow. Rebinding retires matching dropped rows owned by the caller.

Bridge commands declare context [0]. Guild registration submits an empty command set after checking that expected global commands exist. The deployment CLI applies timeouts, verifies command shapes, and sets exit code 1 for unsuccessful deployment or verification.

Re-adding the Discord bot can leave a connected replacement with live relay turned off, silently halting inbound Discord messages until the setting is re-enabled. Carry the relay setting across or tell the user it was reset. A tight timing assertion in one unit test could also flake on slow CI runners.

One review by Opus, read against the code. Each suite was run alone (discordCommandService 13, relayCommands 34, chatRelayCore 46, discordService 27, all green): PASS.
Enable/disable authority: the actor comes from the signed body on both the single-pod and multi-pod paths. The check needs a non-empty actor, a non-empty discordUserId and an exact match, decided per row. Nothing falls back to allowing.
Empty bulk PUT: it goes only to /applications/{id}/guilds/{guildId}/commands and throws without a guild. register-all skips rows with no guild, and the only global PUT sends the full set.
Connected only:/tldr and /summary need a connected row. Settings writes refuse on rows that aren't connected. /status still reports the real state.
Cooldown: claimed synchronously before the run, kept on failure, and pruned to the last minute, so the map is bounded.
Boot:start.sh stays non-fatal. The worst case is about 40 s, against roughly 90 s before a liveness restart.
Mute parsing: empty and bare-number arguments behave as before. /mode still reads the first word.
UI: the button appears only on an error-state Discord row and goes to the install link. 重新添加机器人 is right for the Discord bot.
Test ids: only the allowlisted fake ids.
Low, for a follow-up, not blocking:
legacy /discord-push runs the summarizer with no cooldown and no connected check;
legacy /commonly-summary doesn't filter on status;

Verify the command contexts, not only their names.
If deployment fails after an older command set was registered, all names can still match while the bridge commands lack contexts: [0]. discord:verify then exits successfully even though the new restrictions are not deployed. Compare the relevant command fields and test this stale-context case. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Make verification reject surviving guild commands.
With expectedCommands empty, missingCommands.length is always zero. verifyCommandRegistration therefore reports success even when Discord still returns the duplicate guild commands this change intends to clear. Require registeredCommands.length === 0 for success, and test a nonempty response.

Preserve guild commands until global commands exist.
If boot-time global deployment fails, start.sh still starts the server. A permitted user can then call POST /register-commands/:integrationId, and the empty guild bulk overwrite removes the guild's existing commands even though no global replacements exist. This can leave that guild without working commands. Check that the expected global commands are registered before clearing the guild set, or retain the existing guild commands when the global check fails.

…oy bounded; verify checks shape (#3470)
CI and CodeRabbit on e111c85:
- The ReDoS mute input now expects usage, still parsed in under 50 ms.
- Each boot-time PUT attempt has a 15 s wall-clock AbortController covering
the response body, cleared in finally.
- A Discord bind on the same pod, guild and channel as one of the caller's
rows in error or disconnected retires that row as Remove would (grants
revoked, webhook deleted, row inactive); best effort, never fails the bind.
- The empty per-guild PUT runs only once the global bridge commands exist;
otherwise the guild keeps its commands and the reply names what's missing.
- Per-guild verify fails while the guild still holds commands; discord:verify
compares contexts and options, not only names; exit codes tested.

discordService.ts:1064: per-guild verify fails while the guild still holds any command, and reports them as unexpectedCommands. Tested with an empty guild and with a non-empty one.
discordService.ts:895: before the empty per-guild PUT, it reads the global commands. If an expected bridge command is missing, or the read fails, the guild keeps its commands and the reply names what's missing. Both cases are tested.
Verify exit status: tests now assert that success exits 0, and that a missing command and an API error both exit 1.
Outside diff, verify shape: verify now compares contexts and options (names, types, required, choice values) and reports staleCommands. Fields Discord adds itself are ignored. Tested with a missing context, a changed choice and Discord's extra fields.

Preserve relay settings during a successful replacement.
liveRelay is a functional Discord setting. An active dropped row with status disconnected and liveRelay: true can still relay the installer’s Discord messages into the pod, but the fresh row does not inherit that setting. Retiring the old row can therefore disable inbound relay after “Add the bot again.” Transfer the applicable relay settings only after validating the new installer proof, or make the reset explicit to the user. Add a replacement test with liveRelay: true that checks the resulting inbound relay behavior.

@coderabbitai, on the outside-diff Major at integrations.ts:701-703: confirmed. A replacement row starts with live relay off, as every new Discord row does, so the owner has to turn it on again from Connectors. This fails toward relaying less, and the new row carries a fresh install proof. It is not fixed in this PR. Follow-up F162 will either carry liveRelay and the mode over after the new proof validates, or tell the user in the reconnect flow, with a replacement test where liveRelay is true.
A related point I'm tracking in the same item: inbound relay on a row that is disconnected but still active.
@lilyshen0722 Understood. This finding remains valid but is deferred to F162, not fixed in this PR. The replacement path in backend/routes/integrations.ts does not copy the old row’s relay settings before retiring it.
F162 should cover:
Preserve liveRelay and the mode only after the fresh install proof validates, or explain the reset in the reconnect flow.
Add a replacement regression test with liveRelay: true on the old row.
Check inbound relay separately for rows that are disconnected but still active. The replacement’s relay-off default does not establish that this case is safe.
I will leave the finding unresolved. Would you like a GitHub follow-up issue for these F162 items, or are they already recorded elsewhere?
