Skills for developing NVDA screen reader add-ons with Claude Code:
/nvda-addon:develop: create a new add-on with nvda-addon-kit, work on add-ons built with kit or addonTemplate, write code against NVDA's API, build and test. Claude also loads it on its own when you work on an add-on./nvda-addon:release [version] [channel]: release an add-on: version, changelog, tag and push, the GitHub release and the add-on store submission. Runs only when you call it.
In Claude Code:
/plugin marketplace add addonWorkshop/claude-plugins
/plugin install nvda-addon@addonworkshop
Updates: /plugin marketplace update addonworkshop, or enable auto-update for the marketplace in /plugin → Marketplaces.
- uv and git.
- To test add-ons yourself: Windows with NVDA installed. On other systems Claude builds the add-on and you test it on a Windows machine.
