The locked dependency graph on main fails the vulnerability audit with 13 advisories as of 23 October 2026. Refresh Cargo dependencies and CI action pins, including the patched QUIC, TLS verification, constant-time utility, and root-certificate packages, while retaining Rust 1.88 support and the existing audit policy.

Update rmcp to 3.7.0 and rstest to 0.28.0. Adapt the MCP example to ClientConfig and optional server metadata while preserving its 2025-11-25 initialize handshake. UUID remains at 1.26.1, the latest release compatible with Rust 1.88. The final lockfile includes Tokio 1.54.1 and ctutils 0.4.6; the yanked Tokio 1.54.0 and crypto-bigint 0.7.6 releases are excluded. Crypto-bigint is updated to 0.7.10.

Restrict coverage comments to same-repository PRs so fork tokens can complete the job. Keep the 90% coverage gate, job summary, and uploaded report enabled.

Fixes #124

Validation: cargo audit reports zero vulnerabilities and no warnings; cargo deny check passes. Both signature backends pass Clippy, 938 tests (5 ignored), benchmark smoke tests, and Rust 1.88 checks. Formatting, all-target/example compilation with warnings denied, release build, documentation, and the local mTLS and DPoP smoke examples pass. The MCP example also compiles with Rust 1.88.

GitHub CI: all 13 checks pass at 3a45dbccbf0f40941b02b7f12cd205ae67b2bd3d, including Security Audit and DCO. Line coverage is 91.00% against the unchanged 90% gate; the summary and report artifact are published successfully.

Update direct requirements, the lockfile, and pinned CI actions to current
Rust 1.88-compatible releases, including the patched TLS, QUIC, ctutils,
and Tokio packages. Keep the audit and dependency policies enabled.

Adapt the MCP example to rmcp 3.7 while retaining its initialize protocol.

Fork pull requests have a read-only token and cannot post coverage comments. Keep the 90 percent coverage gate, job summary, and uploaded report active while restricting the comment step to same-repository pull requests.
