Release v0.3.33.

Baseline

  • Latest release: v0.3.32, 11 assets including macos-arm64.pkg and two AppImage.zsync, published 2026-10-28T14:31:23Z.
  • origin/master tip: b0a6f7f3, 8 commits and 25 files (+1531 / −405) ahead of the v0.3.32 tag (ee986ab4).
  • That tip's Test run 40872432330 reads completed / success (both test and test-windows).
  • bump-version.py --check reports all 8 version sources agreeing on 0.3.32.
  • Tag v0.3.33 does not exist locally or on the remote; no bump branch and no release PR is open.

What this version carries

User-visible first:

Operator-facing:

⚠️ This version contains runtime changes — emrg/client/app.py, emrg/server/wake.py, emrg/server/prompts/system.j2 and the GUI renderer. After upgrading, the daemon must be restarted and the GUI and TUI reopened, or the host keeps running the previous code. tasks.yml needs no change.

Acceptance

  1. The bump moves all eight version sources to 0.3.33 at once and bump-version.py --check is clean.
  2. Tag v0.3.33 is created exactly once. If its build run fails, it is closed out in the same cycle with gh run rerun <id> --failed; no failing run is left silent.
  3. Read from the downloaded artifacts, not from the source tree: unpack renderer/dist out of app.asar and assert the new markdown image rendering is in place; find server/wake.py and server/prompts/system.j2 in the payload and assert this version's content is there.
  4. The GUI leg actually runs npm run dist, not only its tests.
  5. check-release-published.py reports 11 assets, Latest pointing at v0.3.33, and the macOS pkg notarized.
  6. Each of the three user-visible behaviours has a test holding it, and removing the change turns that test red: GUI local-image rendering (including the counter-assertion that javascript: is still stripped), TUI Esc cancellation, and switching sessions not being refused.
