Copy regress/lib/libcrypto/x509/verify.c as x509_verify.c
to avoid the basename collision with x509/bettertls/verify.c
when regress tests are flattened into tests.

Also copy the libcrypto cert test data and make-dir-roots.pl,
add a wrapper to prepare the CApath roots directory, and
register the test for both autotools and CMake.

select() strips not-ready descriptors from the fd_sets, so a timed-out
pass leaves them empty and the next pass calls select() with three empty
sets, which Windows rejects with WSAEINVAL. Keep a pristine copy and
restore it before each retry so an idle socket waits out the timeout.

For release candidates, we will have an entry with the release candidate
version number (e.g. 4.4.0rc1), instead of the final stable version
number.

Don't print newline after reading password if interrupted by signal.
Avoids an extra newline when the user presses ^C or ^\ at the
    password prompt. OK deraadt@

apps/nc/compat/sys/socket.h only redirects socket() to _socket() when
include/compat/sys/socket.h has already defined NEED_SOCKET_FLAGS. That
is true for CMake, which searches apps/nc/compat first, but automake
appends apps/nc/compat after include/compat, so the nc header is reached
from the other one's #include_next before the flag exists, and then
defines SOCK_NONBLOCK itself so the flag is never set at all.

On macOS the autotools-built nc therefore passes SOCK_NONBLOCK and
SOCK_CLOEXEC straight to socket(), which fails with EPROTONOSUPPORT:
no TCP or UDP connection can be made and -U fails with "Protocol not
supported". This is #631 again, as fixed by fe903fb for CMake only.

Put apps/nc/compat ahead of the common include paths, matching the
CMake order.
A missing `=` in the --prerelease flag caused the boolean to be treated
as an argument, which causes the command to fail.
